Stasia’s jaw is on the ground now, her eyes like saucers.

“Are you kidding?” she gasps.

I merely wink and smile.

“You’ll see for yourself when you graduate to our part of the casino.”

Yet my co-worker’s still trying to process this new information.

“But Tamara, have you ever gotten into trouble for sleeping with the high rollers?” she tilts her head, eyes sharp with curiosity. “I mean, this is illegal right?”

I smile and shrug again.

“Nope,” I shrug. “Again, these guys don’t come to Vegas to be angels. Besides, management turns a blind eye to our shenanigans. They make money off of girls like me. It’s been this way since the dawn of time.”

“Really?” Stasia gasps.

“Yep, of course. Again, these guys don’t come to Vegas for their health. They’re here to indulge, and the Corinthian makes sure their needs are met. Every one of their needs, to be precise. And the customers? Well, they end up leaving very satisfied and ready to recommend us to their other wealthy friends,” I giggle. “So it’s a win-win-win for everyone.”

Stasia continues to stare at me, her jaw on the ground.

“Wow,” she murmurs to herself. “Just wow.”

“I know,” I say with another wink. “Pretty awesome, right?”

Stasia merely shakes her head again, brown ponytail swinging.

“You know, I think I hate you, Tamara. I swear this is so unfair! You’re living my dream as I toil away with the regulars who tip like misers and barely even order any alcohol.”

“You’re being dramatic,” I giggle, but my friend shakes her head.

“No, I’m being so serious right now! You’re really lucky because you get to work in a private room where you don’t have to interact with a trillion different people who barely look at you when you come by with their drinks. Instead, you get to cozy up to a few filthy rich men who probably tip you in the four figures, and you get to have sassy fun whenever you want! That’s the lifestyle I crave. That’s what I aspire to,” she says in a completely serious voice.

I nod and take her hand.

“I know,” I say. “But Stassi, you just need to get some experience under your belt first. After all, you’ve only been working at the Corinthian for the last six months, right? And you were a stripper before that, am I right?”

“Yep,” Stasia nods. “Let’s see…I started stripping as soon as I turned eighteen and did it until I turned twenty, and then I quit and started working here because the Corinthian pays better. I don’t have to take off my clothes either.”

“Well, then you’re moving up in the world already,” I say with an encouraging squeeze of her hand. “Just remember to be patient and things will work out the way you want them to. Manifest your future, girl!”

She cheers and lifts her hand for a high-five, which I slap. Then my eyes go wide.

“Oh my god, it’s time for us to get going,” I gasp after taking a glance at the clock. “Our shifts start in a few.”

My buddy nods, smacking her lips together after applying another coat of gloss. “Right, and I don’t want to be late because I want to move up,” she says with a wink at me. “Soon, I’ll be your new co-worker servicing the Corinthian’s best clients.”

“Exactly,” I giggle as we straighten our outfits. “It’s only a matter of time.”

Then, we exit the dressing room and Stassi goes to the left while I turn right. The carpet is soft beneath my heels, and the wall sconces cast a golden glow before me. I sigh with pleasure because I love my job … and the best part of my night is about to begin.

TAMARA

When I enter the high rollers room, there are five men inside. There’s the dealer, whom I know as Frank. He’s okay. He’s an older man in his mid to late fifties, impeccable in shirt sleeves, a black vest, and a friendly yet professional demeanor. Discretion is key here at the Corinthian, and I’m sure the hotel pays him good money to keep his mouth shut.

A bartender stands at attention in the back of the room, formal in his white sleeves and striped vest. I don’t know his name, but it doesn’t matter because we’re all watching the three men at the table. These must be my customers.

“Good evening, gentlemen,” I greet throatily while mincing into the room. “I’m Tamara, and I’ll be your hostess tonight. Welcome to the Corinthian Hotel.”

The three guys turn to look at me, and my heart begins to accelerate because these men are absolutely gorgeous. They’re impeccably clad in dark suits, and the blinding white of their cuffs and collars creates a stark contrast against tanned skin, handsome features, and dark hair. I’ve always been a girl who adores a man dressed to the nines, and these guys fit the bill.
