I couldn’t hold back my joy at her response. She was so indulgent and happy, I loved it. I pressed a kiss to the top of her hair and breathed in the sweet scent of her. “I like the way you think,” I told her.

We remained like that for a long time. I let myself enjoy her warmth and her company while her breathing slowed and she began to doze a little. No matter how late it was, however, I couldn’t sleep. My mind was whirring with thoughts of just how much things had changed and I needed to do something or say something to get it off my chest.

“Thank you,” I finally whispered to her, unsure if she was awake or asleep. “Thank you for seeing something in me that I never saw in myself until you came along. And for being stubborn enough to stick around while I was being a perfect idiot.” I rubbed my hands up and down her back, feeling overwhelmed at the depth of my feelings for this incredible, wonderful woman.

Remy giggled and I was happy that she was awake for my emotional outburst. “You’re not an idiot, Griff. Or if you are, you’re my idiot.”

“I’m definitely an idiot,” I argued with a smile. “I was stupid enough not to realize just how perfect you were for me for so long. I’ll never regret something more.” For a moment, I frowned as I thought about all the months I had wasted in my denial. There was no doubt that the way I’d acted had hurt Remy more than once and I wasn’t sure how she had forgiven me, but I was so grateful that she had.

“No, don’t regret it,” she told me, reaching up to cup my face. “We got here in the end, didn’t we? That’s all that matters.”

I nodded. “You’re right.”

She smiled up at me. “But you’re right too. It was tough to stick around with you constantly pushing me away. I did think about giving up a few times, but I knew I’d never find a set of abs as perfect as yours on another guy. That’s something you never give up on!” Remy burst into a fit of laughter and hearing her musical laugh made me incredibly happy.

I laughed too and pushed her onto her back before tickling her sides and climbing on top of her, pinning her to the bed. My hands were unrelenting as I swept them down her sides and under her armpits, mercilessly tickling all of her most sensitive spots that I had come to know throughout our time together.

“No, Griff! Stop! I give in!” she squealed while she giggled and squirmed beneath me.

I did as she asked and stopped to look down at her, feeling blown away by her breathtakingly beautiful she looked. I stared down at her sparkling blue eyes and I couldn’t hold back any longer. I was already hard again, ready to make love to her again and again for the rest of my life. “I love you,” I told her sincerely. “I’m going to love you forever. That’s never going to change.”

Remy stared up at me with watery eyes. “It better not or you’ll have to find out just how stubborn I can be,” she retorted.

I laughed. “That kind of makes me want to find out...” I teased.

“Don’t you dare!” she cried.

I silenced her protests with a kiss.

Epilogue – Remy

One Year Later

“Careful, baby,” Griff whispered beside me and grabbed hold of my hip.

As the boat rocked beneath me, I struggled to keep my footing, but thankfully Griff was holding me close and keeping me steady. I could hear the rush of water from the falls ahead even though we were still too far away to see it yet. My heart was pounding and I held Griff’s hand tighter as we moved forward. If you’d asked me a year ago where I thought I’d be now, I’d have never said that I was getting married in Niagara Falls to my sexy, hot boss Griff with our sleeping baby girl sitting on my hip. I was living the dream and it was all thanks to the incredible and hunky man at my side.

With a wide smile, I turned to look up at him through my lace veil. He looked dapper in his expensive Giorgio Armani tuxedo and I couldn’t wait for our wedding night when I’d be tearing it off of him. He looked down at me with his sharp, gray eyes and I could see the hunger reflected there. We’d both agreed we would try for our second child on our honeymoon and I was ecstatic. We’d already experienced so much joy with our first child, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed mini me, who I named after my late mother, Isabelle. I knew that any and all children I would have with Griff would only make me happier. I was truly blessed.
