“There are presents at home and Tarzan will be lonely,” he pointed out, sweetening the pot.

“Okay.”

The walk out of the zoo was quiet. Grayson held her hand gently as they followed the groups of families and kids enjoying the zoo. At the car, he helped her inside and fastened her seatbelt as she melted into the comfortable seat. Valerie didn’t remember leaving the parking lot.

“We’re home, Cupcake. Let Daddy get you inside.” Grayson said quietly to rouse her as he removed her seatbelt and scooped her out of her seat.

“My tattoo hurts, Daddy.”

“Let’s go get it cleaned up and cover it with some of the ointment Tatiana sent home with us. That will make it feel better.”

Valerie allowed him to guide her back inside. She rubbed her eyes, trying to wake herself up fully.

“Let’s go to the bathroom and you can potty before we clean up your tattoo.” Immediately, Valerie rushed ahead when the mere suggestion of using the restroom spurred her need.

When she emerged from the small toilet area, Grayson helped her wash her hands. Valerie felt a little strange having him assist her in all these things she’d done on her own a million times, but she had to admit she loved it. He knelt in front of her to take off her shoes and socks. She froze when his hands stroked up the outer sides of her thighs and scooted under her birthday T-shirt.

“Let’s take off these leggings, Cupcake. We need to remove the bandage and put on the soothing mixture to make your tattoo happy.”

“I don’t need to take them off, Daddy.”

“You don’t want to wipe all the ointment off, Little girl. This shirt is long enough to cover your bottom,” he promised.

“But I’ll be naked underneath.”

“Just you and me here, birthday girl. I think you’ll be okay, don’t you?”

She stared at him, wondering if she were that brave. Valerie so wanted a Daddy. He would have to see her flaws. Taking a deep breath, she nodded.

Without hesitation, Grayson stretched her leggings away from the tender tattoo and whisked them off. With his hands on her bare hips, he said, “Hold your T-shirt up out of the way.”

Slowly, she wadded the material in her hand, inching the fabric up. When she had it clear of the tattooed area, he said, “Let’s turn you a bit into the light so I can see the edges of the bandage.”

That was the very last thing Valerie wanted to do, but she allowed him to rotate her slightly.

He paused for a moment as he looked at her. “You are gorgeous, Cupcake.”

Valerie held her breath when he leaned forward to press a kiss on her skin next to the tattoo. The warmth of the kiss lingered as he sat back to coax the bandage from her skin.

“This looks perfect. We’ll wash it gently with some soap and water like Tatiana said.”

She loved that he told her what he was doing before he acted. Efficiently, he tended to her, interspersed with more sweet kisses. The feel of his lips on her sensitive skin made her giggle.

“Ticklish, Cupcake?”

“Sometimes. I don’t like to be tickled though. It makes me mad.”

He nodded solemnly and grabbed the sample tube of the soothing mixture Tatiana had sent home with them. Spreading it carefully, he looked at the glistening tattoo before saying, “This is so cute, Cupcake.”

“I really like it!” she said, turning to look at it in the mirror. When she realized how much she was showing him, Valerie dropped her T-shirt down to cover herself. “Sorry.”

“I enjoyed the view, Little girl. I think that deserves a present, don’t you?”

“Yes!” Valerie bounced with excitement.

Following her Daddy down the hallway, she allowed herself to check out his firm ass. He had such a physical job she knew he would be in good shape. She thought maybe he should have gotten a tattoo as well.

“Where are your other tattoos?” she blurted, unable to believe she hadn’t asked him earlier.

“On my chest.”

“Do I get to see them?” she dared to ask.

“Of course. Not now. It’s present and nap time.”

“I don’t want to take a nap. I want to stay awake to spend time with you,” Valerie responded, shaking her head vigorously.

“I’m not going anywhere, Cupcake.”

She sighed. “What do I get to open now, Daddy?”

“I think this is the time to open these,” Grayson answered, and selected two bags from the pile.

Valerie opened the largest one first. It was kind of like a blanket but had weird sides. “What’s this?”

“It’s a swaddling blanket for Little girls. It helps them take a nap well.”

Setting that one aside, unsure of that gift, Valerie opened the other. She stared in astonishment at the twin pack of pacifiers in her hands. “They’re bigger than normal. They make these for adults?”

“They do. Many Little girls like to suck on a pacifier when they take a nap. Shall we give it a try?”
