She wanted to avoid getting everyone worked up over her accidental pregnancy if the baby wasn’t going to stick anyway. She certainly didn’t want Trip to find out before Easy’s date with The Punisher. Easy might not survive it.

The whole situation turned her already twisting stomach. She felt so damn helpless and unsure how to handle any of it.

Since the accident a few days ago, she only came over to The Barn when she knew Easy would be at work. She preferred not to piss off Trip even more. She already caused enough damage, she didn’t want to be the cause of more.

But, truth was, she missed Easy.

Surprisingly, so much more than she thought possible.

She wanted to see him.

Touch him.

Hear his voice.

Feel his touch.

But she told herself that it was only two weeks. She could do that. For Easy.

Two weeks was nothing in the whole scheme of things.

Since Jemma was on her regular day off, Tessa could scavenge for fresh food and other items that the Amish regularly stocked in the bunkhouse kitchen without Dyna.

Jemma had actually handed her a list as if Tess was heading out to the local grocery store.

All she wanted was cheese. She had never been a fan of it until she tried the homemade cheese the Amish made. Lately—when she was even hungry, which wasn’t often—it was the only food she craved.

Now that she knew she was pregnant, that craving sort of made sense.

With her hand on the swinging door leading into the bunkhouse kitchen, she paused when she heard a female voice that sounded like Angel. “Did you hear that she’s pregnant?”

Oh fuck…

Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck.

How did they find out? Nobody was supposed to know and she purposely didn’t tell anyone for that very damn reason!

The heavy thump of her heartbeat caused her pulse to pound hard enough that it seemed to be doing everything it could to escape her neck.

After a quick glance down the corridor to make sure it was still empty and no one would catch her eavesdropping, she carefully pushed the swinging door open wider, hoping it didn’t squeak, and pressed her back to it.

“Who’s pregnant?” Crystal asked.

Tessa couldn’t see who all was in the kitchen because of where they stood. She turned her head so she could hear the sweet butt’s answer better over the ringing in her ears.

“Liz,” Angel said on a sigh.

Tessa folded over in relief and blew out a long, but quiet, breath to try to get her blood pressure back to normal. At least, somewhat normal.

“All these babies and pregnancies, I swear I’m getting baby fever.”

Her head hanging down by her knees wasn’t helping the constant headache she’d had from the mild concussion. When she straightened again, she bit back a groan and had to hold onto the door tighter as she tried to slam the brakes on the spinning brain in her throbbing skull.

“Keep that fever to yourself,” Amber warned Angel.

“Baby fever is one thing, actually getting knocked up is another. Stretch marks, swollen tits, ass spread, growing a gut,” Crys complained. “Taking care of Rush is the best birth control eeeevah. Especially when he has diaper blow-outs. Or just upchucks all over me without warning. Warm, regurgitated breast milk…” She gagged loudly. “Also hearing Reese and Stella’s horror stories about the actual birth, or how their pussies are no longer the same, makes me never forget to take my pill. I’m tempted to get the guys to double-wrap it, too.”

“Honestly, it’s no surprise that Liz is preggo. I’d have that man’s babies in a heartbeat,” Amber announced with a long, loud moan.

“But damn… Another one bites the dust,” Crys said.

“There are enough kids around here already,” Angel stated.

“All these badass bikers turning into daddies… And not the kind I prefer,” Amber said on a laugh. “It might be time to move on soon.”

“And go where?” Crys asked sharply.

“Anywhere but here. There’s hardly anyone left. Right now it’s like scraping the bottom of the barrel.”

“What do you mean? There’s Castle. And after they prospect, Nico and Rex will be available,” Angel reminded Amber.

“Yeah, but if I stick around for them, or even Eddie, then I can’t say no to Dozer, Woody and Bones.”

“Bones isn’t so bad,” Angel murmured.

“He weighs less than me!” Amber screeched.

Laughter echoed through the kitchen.

“No, he doesn’t. He just doesn’t have any meat on his bones to hang onto. That’s all. But he’s been in the gym working out and trying to change that,” Angel said.

“Yeah, Dozer’s been in there trying to lose weight while Bones has been working to gain it,” Amber said. “Too bad they just can’t do a swap.”

“Don’t forget Dutch,” Crys added.

Their conversation ended right quick when Tessa walked into the kitchen. Wide eyes turned to her.

“What about Dutch?” Tessa asked, pretending she hadn’t already heard the previous conversation. “What did the old man do now?”
