Because whatever this was?

It was worth fighting for.

Epilogue

Twins.

Because it couldn’t just be one, of course. With us, it was alway a bit more complex than that. But a year later, we ended up having twins. A boy and a girl, and I don’t think any of us could’ve been happier.

I did end up quitting working for the guys, but it worked out okay after all. They found a much more capable assistant in Harold. Harold the fifty-eight year old career corporate assistant who did a far better job of it than I ever had.

Hell, I’d slept with my bosses on day one.

Instead, I started working on my writing career — the one I’d put on hold for bad relationships and crummy jobs. After Joshua and Johanna were born, it just made it easier to be a stay at home mom anyways, and I loved it. A part time writing career and a full time stay at home mom career? Yeah, perfect.

Not to mention my second job: keeping three insatiable men happy. But that’s the easy part.

Well, at least the fun part.

Sometimes, I think the kids are Hunter’s, especially with Joshua’s sharp blue eyes. But then, Jo has Damien’s blonde hair, and they’ve both got Sean’s seriousness at times as well.

We don’t know, and we don’t care. Because we’re all one family, one big unit that works better together than we ever did separately. It’s not normal, but then, what’s “normal”? All I know is, I was never good at relationships.

Turns out, I needed more than one heart to match my own.

It’s Christmas now, and Sasha, Luke, and Jordan and their little boy Connor are coming over to the house. Sean is mixing up some of his famous cranberry cider punch, Hunter and Jo are hanging holly around the living room, and Josh is helping Damien and I with the rest of dinner preparations.

Later, there’s going to be hugs, and kisses, and high-fives, and cheers, and love.

We’re all here.

We’re all whole.

We’re all one big family.

And really, that’s what life's all about.

The End.
