Were we going to have to eat under the table at the men’s feet?

And why did all the women around me seem happy? They were smiling. Some were rubbing their faces on their man’s leg like an obedient pet would do. Others crouched and patiently awaited whatever would come next. No one was blushing. No one was crying. No one was pissed or holding back fury. Not one single woman was in distress of any kind.

Eddie reached under the table and placed his palm on the top of my head. He gently ran his fingers between my hair... petting me.

Petting his kitten.

And fuck me... my pussy throbbed.

“Let the kittens eat first,” I heard Eddie’s voice say from above.

Shortly after, I saw bowls of penne pasta with red sauce and thick pieces of sausage pushed under the table. Each woman grabbed a bowl and positioned it in front of them. The red-lipped woman was the first to place her face into the bowl and began eating it as a cat would. No hands. Just her mouth.

Every other woman quickly followed. It wasn’t as savage as one would expect having ten women under a table eating out of bowls with their mouths. In fact, the women had a certain elegance and grace about them. They clearly had had practice at it.

Me, however, not so much. Even getting my face to the bowl felt odd. It forced my ass out and high, causing my asshole to tighten against the plug. I had to spread my thighs to help aid me in lowering my face enough, and the cool air against my damp pussy embarrassed me. What if the other women saw the signs of arousal? What if they saw how wet I was getting as my breasts and hardened nipples caressed the cold floor as I took bites of the pasta?

By the sound up above, it was clear dinnertime had begun for the men as well. They laughed and spoke as people would do at any normal party. As if ten of their pets weren’t eating out of bowls at their feet.

Eddie’s hand reached down and touched my spine as I was hunched over my food eating. Softly, he ran his fingertips up and down, soothing me. Comforting me. Looking up from my bowl and at the other women, I could see that other men were doing the same to their kittens, and every woman had a look of pride and contentment on their faces. And I understood... I felt warm and safe under Eddie’s touch. I had no idea why, and I had no idea why I pressed my body up against his leg so that I could feel his warmth against me. But I did.

After we were all done eating, each woman pushed their bowls out from underneath the table, and I could see the feet of someone coming along to collect them. I watched everything all the women did and copied the best I could. I even licked my hand and wiped it against my face as a cat would bathe. We all had red sauce on our faces, but I could see that it was our duty to clean ourselves while the men continued to talk up above.

For the most part, I couldn’t really make out what was being said. It seemed like idle chatter, but then I heard Eddie say “Moretti,” and I struggled to listen the best I could. Captive or not, I was still the assistant D.A., and if I ever got out of the Jumping Jack Power Plant alive, I could use all the additional intel I gathered to put Eddie in his very own cage.

Payback would be a ruthless bitch.

“Moretti is finally claiming the attack on the church,” a man said.

“They went too far. That’s sacred ground,” Eddie said. “The family deserved to grieve their loved one.”

“They even killed the fucking priest,” another voice said.

“And that kid was too young to die. Cop or not, the answer was not death,” Eddie added.

“Moretti is playing extra dirty. They have a big move planned, and I think we better be on the lookout,” a voice I recognized as Tommy’s said.

“No mercy,” Eddie said. “They stopped playing by the rules, and we sure as hell aren’t going to after all they’ve been up to. If they want a good ol’-fashioned turf war, then we’ll give it to them.”

“And the other families?” Tommy asked. “We all took the blood oath for peace. Stay in our corners.”

“Yeah, well, it’s pretty fucking obvious that Moretti has other ideas. We aren’t going to be the idiots who stay in the shadows under the guise of peace and let them fuck with us and our enterprise.”

My heart skipped at the memory of the awful day in the church as flashbacks of blood and mayhem overtook my thoughts. But at least I knew for a fact it wasn’t Eddie and the Vasco family. I had always figured as much, but it was a relief to hear the confirmation. The news that Eddie wasn’t responsible for the massacre and his continued petting of me had me snuggling even closer to his leg for comfort.
