Minutes passed in silence.

I continued to follow proper protocol.

One did not just speak to Lucifer.

They remained silent until he requested them to elaborate.

One did not just ask him questions.

They simply answered.

He spoke with ancient words. He always found human languages to be beneath him.

Still, all I could think of was to get Fatou out of the area. Slowly, I placed my hand to the side to give the vines an order.

Lucifer curved his full lips into a taunting smile. His voice filled the air, even though he never moved his mouth. “I would not wake her, but it is up to you.”

Swallowing down fear, I kept my hands next to me.

Unlike other Angels, Lucifer didn't come out much, because it was impossible for him to hide the power radiating around him. Even humans could sense that he was a supernatural creature. Many gave him a wide berth, not understanding why he made their teeth clatter and the small hairs on the back of their necks rise.

But I knew he stayed hidden for other reasons.

He was not an all-encompassing powerful creature that could not be killed. As far as I knew, only God held that power.

I knew undying faith weakened him, especially when it radiated from Humans who without a doubt believed in the power and love of God.

Most babies set him on edge too—their scents, their cute faces, even their little cries. He usually fled the area when he spotted them.

These were things that I had personally witnessed. No one talked about the weaknesses of Lucifer, in fear that he would hear our whispers and pay us a deadly visit.

He turned his view to Fatou.

I stifled a growl. It lodged in my throat and made me feel like I was close to exploding.

“She has a great power.” Lucifer turned back to me. “Just like you. I always told my sister that she gave you too much.”

His gaze moved down to my cock. “Lilith always over does things.”

On its own, my cock lowered and sank into itself, getting smaller and smaller.

This time when Lucifer spoke, he moved his lips. “Put some clothes on.”

I quickly called leather to my body. Thick black straps materialized, slipped along my legs, hips, and cock. Then, they melted into pants. I snapped my fingers and a long leather trench coat appeared. I snapped again and the coat shimmered into place, wrapping around my arms and fluttering in the wind.

“Much better.” His smile left. “Come here.”

Terrified, I zipped his way and stood a food in front of him.

He studied me. “You have been busy, Titus.”

I did my best to not frown at his use of my human name.

“A war is coming. You know this.” Lucifer leaned his head to the side. “You killed one of our top lieutenants. Yet, I am getting so old, I do not remember many things anymore. Did I give you permission to do this?”

I shook my head.

A frigid wind hissed like a snake under his feet and blew against the trees. Leaves rained down to the ground.

“Titus. Titus. The most spoiled of Lilith's children.” He began to slowly circle me. “So, you truly did what you wanted?”

I remained silent.

He got right back in front of me. “Lilith cried. She felt Ferkos die.”

I gritted my teeth.

“I tracked you down to kill you and instead caught you enjoying yourself with one of God's creatures.” Lucifer moved his view back to Fatou. A loud bold laugh left him. Malicious and terrifying, Lucifer's laugh was like a thousand thorns, embedded into your spine.

I trembled.

He bared his sharp teeth at me. “How did you find her?”

I cleared my throat. “She found me. She is one of Adae's hunters.”

“Adae.” Lucifer let out that horrific laugh as if he knew a secret joke. “Still trying to get back home and thinking that he can suck up to Father by killing off my soldiers.”

This new information set my mind spinning with many theories.

Father? God. Right? So. . .Adae is a. . .Fallen Angel? Which one?

I wished I could ask Lucifer, but to try would be to get my vocal cords slashed due to the perceived disrespect.

“One day I will find and kill him.”

I stiffened.

“Interesting. Adae finally discovered an amazing weapon to harm my plans.” Lucifer turned his focus back to Fatou. “An earthly creature full of heavenly power that is somehow tainted with darkness.”

He lifted his nose and inhaled. “Vampire blood. Your demon blood and. . .a subtle hint of Angel within her bloodline.”

I leaned forward, intrigued.

“If I tasted her, I bet I could figure out what Angel lay with her ancestors.”

A cold shiver sliced up my spine.

Only he knew what taste meant. I had watched him feed on humans and I witnessed him fucking them.

Even worse, I couldn't stop Lucifer if he wanted to fuck Fatou or slice her in two and eat her.
