Dev’s mind raced. Thankfully that was a fast process. “Cummings?” Dev typed. The prospect who had been unexpectedly released from prison today. Keyes was good and pissed off about it.

“Yeah. With witnesses.”

Dev knocked himself in the head with the butt of his palm. He should have ditched the real estate agent and gone with Keyes. The one thing they didn’t need right now was witnesses.

“Fuck, Bro, what were you thinking?” Dev asked.

In today’s world, witnesses came with cell phone cameras. If that shit got recorded, Keyes was in trouble.

“I got his patch. Whatever happens, he ain’t gettin’ this one back.”

Anger hit him from another direction. This was where the club’s bullshit came back to mind. Members being voted in, prospects moving up, all without proper protocol and the blessing of every brother. It was horseshit. Since he was back in the second position, his muscle was flexing further, and he could face the problem head on. Anybody voted in without everyone’s approval was gone.

The other thing he was going to do was make sure all those motherfuckers treated Keyes with respect every time they crossed paths. Keyes could be a fire-breathing dragon, and they still needed to walk up and dap the guy.

Anger made him jab his finger down on the call button, done with texting.

“Yeah?” Keyes answered.

“Lay low,” Dev instructed in no uncertain terms. “If you need somewhere to go, come to…” Well fuck, where did he say? “Holly’s.”

He decided to keep it simple. Keyes wouldn’t need a place to stay anyway.

Keyes stayed silent. They both had secrets from one another. That needed to end soon, too.

“Tell your old man for me?” Keyes asked.

“Fuck, man, I should’ve gone,” Dev said. His head hit back against his headrest.

A harsh bark of laughter came from the other end of the phone. “He’d be dead right now if you went. My old man was spewin’ out of his goddamn mouth. Pissed me the fuck off.”

Yeah, he needed to hear that the late Smoke Dixon had left a litany of hate alive and well within the club prospects to shift the self-regret back to anger. “I knew I hated that motherfucker.” A growl resonated, understanding how he’d have absofuckinglutely made the whole situation worse.

“Yeah, I’m out,” Keyes said. The call went dead.

Fuck. There was no way Keyes wasn’t going to be arrested with that bitch DA still in office. She’d milk the arrest for everything she had. Dev grabbed his car key and shoved the door open, searching for the club lawyer’s name in his contacts.

Keyes had that lawyer boyfriend. He might know best how to proceed, but their attorney had the soul of a cage fighter. She needed to be aware of what happened.

Dev made it just inside the building when a hand shot out, grabbing the front of his T-shirt. He bristled as Cash hauled him forward, the back door slamming shut behind him. His body was pushed backward, banging against the wall beside the door. Not an easy shove, but not hard either, just the perfect amount of manhandling. Cash’s mouth captured his, that sinful tongue executing the perfect deep dive.

He’d give the move a ten out of ten.

Everything else was forgotten as Dev dropped his keys and his phone to the floor. His hands itched to touch Cash, and he wrapped his arms around the big body.

Welcome the fuck home.

~~~
The kiss hadn’t been planned. He’d only meant to greet Dev at the back door. Cash had moved on pure emotion. He’d waited all day to have Dev in his arms again.
The air around them zinged with electricity and sizzled as they kissed. Their chemistry was way off the charts. He was lost to the feel of Dev melting in his arms. A long deep meaningful melding of mouths. Dev kissed him with desperation.
His Dev.
His Devilman.
His partner.
His foxy Fox.
He caressed Dev’s cheek. He cherished this complicated man. Dev’s hardened nipples brushed against Cash’s chest, telling him everything he needed to know about Dev’s desire. Last night, until this morning when they were forced apart, he and his biker had stayed glued to one another. Dev had slept in Cash’s bed. They’d eaten breakfast together, worked out their schedules for the day together, showered and dressed together, never more than a few feet apart until Dev had to leave to take care of the girls.
Tonight, the way he caged Dev with his back against the wall, had to make it clear what he wanted. They needed to be upstairs well ensconced in one of their aggressive, sexual all-night quests. A multiple orgasm event. Dev had making up to do for the drought he’d caused last week and the last ten hours.
Today, Cash decided to be Dev’s personal bodyguard. Allowing himself all the time he wanted to spend with Dev during their workdays, stakeouts, dinners, family obligations, quiet evenings just between the two of them alone and naked. His hips rolled into Dev’s, driving the thought home.
