“What?” Aria asked.

“Call Bull and tell him Aria is going to need a lift to get her car.”

She had no idea what was going on. “This is scaring me.”

“I don’t mean to scare you but you currently have both of those dogs and I don’t like the way he looked at you,” Phil said.

“Did you recognize him?” Andy asked.

“No, I’d never seen him before in my life.” The fear was there, though, she felt it.

He scared her.

“Call Bull,” Phil said.

“You don’t think he’s going to hurt me, do you?” Aria asked.

“I don’t know what’s going on, Aria. Bull warned me to contact him if I saw anything suspicious. A guy with multiple bodyguards and packing weapons, that’s something to take note. You don’t come to a veterinary practice heavily armed.”

“Maybe he’s a celebrity.”

Phil chuckled.

Andy came back through to the room. “Bull’s on his way.”

“If you want to call Grant, you should,” Phil said.

Aria hesitated. The last thing she wanted to do was upset her man or worry him. It could be for nothing, but a part of her knew this wasn’t nothing.

She went for her cell phone and picked it up, waiting for him to answer.

Chapter Thirteen

Bull arrived with Rusty and Pat at his back. He wasn’t taking any chances. He’d given Phil the instruction to call him if he ever saw anything suspicious. The brief description of what Andy told him made him so fucking angry.

So Miguel was quite happy to wander into town as well as veterinary practices and frighten his people. This fucker was going to pay.

Bull stepped into the shop to find Aria there looking a little panicked. Phil and Andy were a little more put together.

“Please tell me you have security footage monitoring this place,” Bull said.

“Of course we do.” Phil pointed in the direction for him to follow.

“Stay here,” he said to Pat and Rusty.

He had no doubt his brother would arrive shortly. Once that happened, he was going to have to convince his brother to let him deal with the shit that went down.

Phil took him to the back of the shop where a small room showed the cameras on screen—one in the waiting room as well as a couple in the parking lot. That was it. Very limited on security.

Phil was already rewinding it back to when the man walked into the shop. Bull watched as he stepped inside. There was no sound, but he watched the man speak, how he conducted himself. This was Miguel. It was the same man from Grant’s phone.

As if thinking about his brother made him appear, Grant stepped inside. “What’s going on?” Grant asked.

“Do you recognize this man?” Bull asked.

“Yes.”

“He the one from your pictures?”

“Yes.”

“He was asking about two dogs,” Phil said. “He mentioned two dogs that were brought here. We told them they belonged to the animal shelter and that was where they were sent.”

“I’ve already got increased security at both shelters,” Bull said.

“This the bastard that took the dogs?”

Bull wasn’t going to discuss any more while Phil was present. “We need to bring your woman in,” Bull said.

Grant shook his head. “Not happening.”

“Do you see this?” Bull pointed at the paused screen that showed Miguel looking at Aria. “He knows her, which means he’s been watching you this whole time.”

“There were several seconds that passed where he just stared at her,” Phil said.

Bull wanted to tell the vet to shut up, but without him, he wouldn’t have this information. He stepped out of the room and headed down the hall to where Aria was sitting, rubbing both dogs behind the ears.

“Did the dogs respond to his voice?” Bull asked.

“No.”

Bull nodded. “I need you to come with me.”

“This is not happening,” Grant said.

He’d heard enough. He grabbed Grant by the arm and pulled him outside. Pat and Rusty stayed inside, where he wanted them to be.

“Do you have a fucking death wish?” Bull asked. “Do you want to see her dead?”

“She is not part of the club.”

“This isn’t about being part of the club and whenever she’s with you, her life is in danger. This bastard is already here, Grant. Don’t you get that? He has already killed. He has hunted on our land. This man is not playing games. He is serious and if you want to get your woman killed, then fine. Just tell me that is your end goal.”

“No, it’s not. I fucking love her, Bull.”

This surprised him.

“You what?”

“I love her. I can’t let anything happen to her, but look at her. She’s scared and taking her to the clubhouse…”

“Is what I’m going to have to do,” Bull said. “This threat is real. It’s worse than Julio.” Bull ran a hand down his face. This was his brother. “Hernandez is dead.”

Grant stopped. “What?”

“Yeah, Hernandez is dead. Body was discovered a few days ago.”
