That was the end of that for me.

I ended it and hauled ass out of there. I haven’t heard from him since.

But, to her point, the sex scene has been pretty damned mild for me.

I purse my lips. “Danny.”

She curls her mouth in disgust. “Ugh, that pompous ass. Yuck.”

“Here’s your drink.”

I turn again to face the crystal-blue eyes that have no doubt lured many women to some serious orgasms. This man ... this man knows how to fuck. It’s written all over him. From head to toe, he makes it known he could take your body and do wicked things with it. I reach out with trembling fingers and take the drink, flashing my very best smile.

Ava gives me a thumbs up over his shoulder, before disappearing into the crowd to dance.

“You dance?” he murmurs, sipping his drink.

“That depends,” I answer, taking a big gulp of mine.

Very lady like.

“On what?”

I grin. “How good you are at dancing, because if you’re good enough, it’ll hide how bad I am and nobody will notice.”

His grin gets bigger.

Oh god.

“Let’s see how we go, then.”

He takes my hand and leads me onto the dance floor. I feel giddy and nervous all at the same time. Mystery man takes my hips in his hands the second we find a clear spot, and he starts swaying my body in an effortless movement. Not only does he smell fucking good, but his body is hard and strong. He pulls me closer, until we’re pressed together, and it takes everything inside of me not to moan, because god damn, I’m enjoying every second of this.

Leaning down, his lips brush across my ear, making me shiver. “What’s your name?”

“Willow,” I murmur, closing my eyes and enjoying every god damned second of this.

“Fuckin’ beautiful.”

Oh.

Yes.

Song after song passes, and he seems to be fixed on me and only me. His hands roam my body, his mouth grazes my neck, and yet at no point does he kiss me or attempt to take things to the next level. It’s like he’s keeping me on the end of a rope, pulling just enough to stop me from leaving. I want more, and he’s not giving me more.

I’m not about to give up on the night, though.

Oh no.

I want this man, and I’m going to make sure he tugs that damned rope hard enough that we come crashing together.

“I need to use the bathroom,” I murmur, when yet another song finishes.

He nods. “I’ll get more drinks.”

He releases me and turns, striding through the crowd, his presence strong and powerful. People step aside, moving without thought. I watch him go, eyes narrowed as I notice he doesn’t once look at any other woman who tries desperately to get his attention, and there are quite a few of them. They’re all beautiful. It seems odd. Out of all the girls he chose to zone in on tonight, why did he pick me?

“How’s it going?”

Ava sidles up to me, her face glistening with sweat, her eyes glassy from alcohol. I take her arm and tug her out of the crowd and toward the bathroom, desperate to pee. I do my business and, once I’m done, I pull her into the corner.

“He seems overly fixated on me.”

“And? What’s the problem? You’re gorgeous and he knows it. You should be flattered.”

“Seriously, though, have you seen the other women out there? They’re fucking beautiful and throwing themselves at him. He’s not even looking in their direction. It just seems ... odd.”

Ava frowns. “You don’t think he’s some sort of stalker or something?”

I laugh, rolling my eyes. “Jesus, no. At least, I don’t think so.”

She gives me a look, crossing her arms. “Well, if I don’t see you later, I’ll know where you are.”

I nod. “At least my kidnapper is hot.”

She laughs. “Come on, you’ve got some work to do. You’re taking that man home.”

Oh, indeed.

I return to the dance floor, and he shows up with two drinks in hand, his eyes slowly moving over my body, taking me in. He just spent the last hour with his hands on every inch of me, and yet he’s studying me like it’s the first time he’s truly paid attention. When his eyes finally meet mine, he grins. Small, but oh, so fucking sexy.

“Should we sit down?” I ask.

He steps in closer. “I’m not done with you.”

Oh boy.

He hands me my drink, and I throw it down without even tasting it. Then I’m in his arms again, his body doing things to me that I’m not sure I can ignore a whole lot longer. Everything inside me aches, and I know for certain I need this man to take me home tonight. It has been too long, and he’s exactly what I need.

“What do you do for a living?” he murmurs into my ear as his hand runs down my back, slowly, making my skin prickle.
