Easing off the pressure, Lucas leaned over Andrei so his lips were next to his ear, and he whispered, “I will happily get on my knees for you. Anytime. Any place.” He placed a soft kiss on his temple as he continued to tunnel his fingers in and out of Andrei’s tight body. “I love having you inside me. Love knowing I’m yours alone. But that’s not what you need right now, is it?”

“Please,” Andrei whimpered. “Want to come with you inside me.”

Lucas grabbed Andrei’s chin with his free hand and turned his face to take his mouth in a quick, rough kiss that left them both panting before he straightened again. Withdrawing his fingers, he snagged the lube and poured more on his cock as a precaution before lining up with Andrei’s hole. He pressed forward, pushing against the muscles, but he didn’t stop to give Andrei time to adjust. He kept pressing forward in one long, slow stroke until his balls were pressed against Andrei’s beautiful ass. They both moaned, Lucas’s fingers digging into Andrei’s hips.

Oh God, it felt so damn good. Lucas held perfectly still, sweat breaking out across his body as Andrei’s inner muscles squeezed and stroked him, trying to pull him even deeper. But he had to move. He pulled back until he was nearly free, earning another cry of pleasure from Andrei before setting them on a bruising pace. The most wonderful sounds came from Andrei, fractured Romanian, bits of what sounded like gibberish, and all of it was punctuated by his name, pleading with him for more, for it to be harder, for him to never stop.

Sweat glistened down Andrei’s back and Lucas reveled in the way Andrei pushed back to meet each thrust as if he couldn’t stand an extra second of not being completely connected with Lucas. He wanted it to go on forever, but he could feel his own orgasm building as the tingling grew sharper in his balls and tightened in his spine.

“Touch yourself,” he ordered as he slightly shifted the angle of his penetration. On his next thrust, Andrei’s shouts grew louder and more desperate, proving that Lucas was perfectly nailing his prostate.

He needed only a few more hard thrusts before Andrei was crying out, his body jerking and tightening around Lucas’s cock, sending Lucas shouting over the edge as well. He pounded brutally into Andrei’s welcoming body, losing all rhythm as blinding pleasure washed over him. He could feel his own hot release slick around his cock as he moved inside Andrei, sending a heart-stopping aftershock through him.

With a groan, Andrei flattened out on the floor and Lucas followed him down, still buried deep in his body. Their panting slowed and Lucas swallowed back a disappointed noise when he finally slipped from Andrei.

He tightened his arms around Andrei’s chest and pulled his back flush with his front. He didn’t care that they were lying naked on his office floor or that Snow and Jude would return home soon to find them. Lucas let his eyes close and he focused on Andrei’s steady breathing and the way he was rubbing his fingers over the hand Lucas had pressed over his heart.

With his last bit of energy, he whispered the one word that kept repeating through his mind.

“Mine.”

Chapter 7

As the truck rumbled over train tracks and Noah turned onto the main road, Ian let a deep sigh drift past his lips. He sank into his seat, tension draining out of his frame for the first time in days. A loud laugh jumped from Noah a second later, drawing Ian’s eyes to the other man.

“Well, that answers that question,” Noah chuckled, shaking his head.

“What?”

“Why you asked me to go grocery shopping with you.” Noah kept his eyes on the road as he took the truck through a series of tight curves. The weather had warmed enough to dry out the roads, removing any lingering ice and snow, but much of this stretch through rural Kentucky was little more than narrow paved cow paths cutting through the hills and trees. “I figured you’d jump at the chance to have some alone time with that sexy detective, but you came to me first.”

“So? We’re friends. And you’re sexy too. Why wouldn’t I want to hang out with you?”

“In a grocery store?” Noah deadpanned. He glanced over at Ian, his expression full of gentle mirth that had Ian blushing and looking out his window. The silence stretched for only a second before Noah spoke again, but the teasing was gone from his voice. “Come on, Ian. Talk to me. Hell…you got to hear about all my drama with Rowe before anyone else. I like to think that you’d let me return the favor and lend an ear.”

Ian chewed on his bottom lip for a second, watching the bare trees blur into a wall of dark brown and gray. “It’s just that…they keep looking at me like I’ve got the key to the Holy Grail locked away in my head and that I’m keeping it from them. I know they don’t mean to and I’m not trying to block out the memories, but…I…I can’t remember. I was stuck in that hell with Jagger for two years. I didn’t know if I was ever going to be free. I didn’t know if he was going to kill me, or if one of the bastards that worked for him would finally do me in. It was just this endless waking nightmare, and the only way I could escape it for even a second was through cooking. The cooking I remember. I can recall all the recipes I tried, why they worked, why they didn’t work. I can tell you when I made them and why. I immersed myself into that to escape my reality—so it’s what I remember. I can tell you things that were happening around me while I was cooking, but Jagger didn’t meet with other people in the kitchen where I could hear things.”
