He couldn’t fucking believe this shit. Lion wouldn’t stand for this kind of degenerate behavior, even if it involved his baby brother.

Dex exhaled. “That’s so messed up. We need to make sure he pays for this.”

We? When did this ‘we’ happen?

But before Hammer could question Dex about it, he heard the low rumble of a motorcycle outside.

Chapter 4 – Dex

Dex glanced at Hammer in panic. If the owner of the house had just arrived, they were sitting ducks.

“I’ve got a gun. Uncuff me,” he whispered, turning around to show Hammer his wrists. He’d proved himself enough for Hammer to trust him by now. Or so he hoped.

But Hammer was already at the door and staring daggers. “No, you don't. I took it off you. Come on. We have to r—” The click of the lock sent him right back into the room, with curse words spilling out of that handsome mouth like spit from the muzzle of a rabid bulldog. “Shut it!”

On the other side of the house, the door opened to the sound of silence.

Fear pooled in Dex’s guts and he now wished he had tried to run away from Hammer when he had the chance. But no, he’d considered himself safe enough, and then the socket distracted him, and now here he was, about to get shot by a pedo bastard. Because Ryker wouldn’t be letting them go once he knew what they’d found. How was Dex to survive without the means to protect himself?

Understanding the need for silence, he pleaded with his eyes and shook the cuffs digging into his flesh to make his point, but Hammer snarled at him and stepped behind the open door, grabbing Dex’s face on the way and taking him too. Great. He’d be a flesh shield.

A heartbeat later, Dex found his back molded to Hammer’s steady front, with a strong hand covering his mouth in a gesture so authoritative his balls tingled despite this precarious situation. It wasn’t his fault that even death seemed like a far-off prospect when put in this position. The cuffs holding his hands together were like lube preparing his brain for a flood of illicit scenarios with Hammer’s dick as the lead actor. The hand held on to his cheeks with the strength of a face-hugger, and Dex wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sweat beaded on his back, and he breathed hard, unable to focus on the reality around him when dipped in fantasies of being held down like this, with no way to scream while he was fucked senseless.

“The fuck…” Ryker said somewhere outside the bedroom, his voice pulling Dex back into the world in which he was unarmed and vulnerable.

Hammer’s Shhhh was so quiet it felt more like a tickle of air against Dex’s ear as the owner of the house moved around the kitchen Hammer had trashed making so much noise Dex could only imagine the end result.

Hammer’s knuckles cracked when he squeezed his pistol with more force, ready to unleash hell on Ryker the moment he stepped a bit closer, but when the pedo’s voice said, “Someone broke into my house and trashed it,” Hammer’s body deflated.

Biker reinforcements were on the way.

Yet all Dex could focus on was on the sturdy muscles of Hammer’s stomach pressing on his bound hands with only the thin T-shirt keeping their flesh apart. Would it be too much to expect Ryker to just fucking leave?

Dex’s phone exploded with the sound of a Grindr message notification.

Then another.

And another.

A whole fucking series of messages like shots from a machine gun.

Dex’s body went stiff as a plank when Hammer shoved him forward and leaped into the doorway. No amount of concrete walls could hide their presence now.

“It’s over, Ryker. I’ve found your outlet stash!” Hammer roared.

With Hammer’s massive form blocking the doorway, all Dex could see of Ryker were his legs, but when Hammer fired his first bullet, even those disappeared behind the wall. Dex could have helped by getting to this guy from the back, but no, he was to be a good hostage. Hammer had no idea who he was deal—

Hammer stepped into the corridor, creating a solid wall between Dex and Ryker as he shot again. “Go through the kitchen!” he yelled without looking back at Dex.

“Lion’s gonna eat you alive,” Ryker roared, hitting back twice. Both bullets hit the wall, filling the corridor with white dust, and Hammer grabbed a large cupboard standing alongside the passage. It collapsed, vomiting dishes and small resin figurines as Hammer scooted down behind its wooden corpse.

“Always hiding behind your brother. You haven’t earned the patch on your chest, and we both know it,” Hammer retorted, and when a blond head emerged from behind the wall, he shot at it.

“Run, Dex, run!”

Dex grabbed the opportunity of the half-second cease-fire and bolted into the kitchen. There was no time to avoid the wreckage of dishes on the floor, but his boots had soles thick enough to withstand glass. Just as he sped up toward the back door, his foot escaped from under him, sliding on a stray piece of crockery. With hands cuffed behind his back, he had nothing to break his fall and landed face-first in the mess.
