“Do you know what it’s gonna be?”

“I know the gist.” With our Founders, you could never be too sure. They loved to turn the tables and mess with our heads. “The theme is Funhouse anyway. What they do with that is anybody’s guess.”

Noa flashed a quick grin. “I do love Sadists.”

I chuckled and hugged him to me, and I kissed his temple. “I know you do.”

Fifteen minutes later, we reached the street where Kit, Colt, and Lucas lived. They had a fancy rowhouse, typical DC architecture, colorful, three stories, basement, very narrow, expensive as fuuuuuuck.

We didn’t have to wait for Kit and his Daddies; Kit ran out as soon as we walked through the low gate, and the other two men followed.

“Hey, you.” I smiled.

“Hey!” Kit grinned and wrestled his overnight bag toward their big truck. “Are you as excited as I am about this weekend? Good to see you again, Noa.”

“You too.” Noa smiled back and seemed to relax more. “I’m excited to see what the Sadists have in store.”

Colt eyed our newcomer as he opened the back for our luggage. “So this is the toy Cam’s been hiding.”

Lucas took a more normal route and extended his hand. “It’s great to meet you, Noa. I’m Lucas. Kit was quick to tell us you’re going to fit right in.”

“I hope so.” Noa shook his hand. “Nice to meet you, Sir.”

Colt came over next, and with a faint smirk, he extended his hand too. “I’m Colt, one of those amazin’ Sadists.”

Noa didn’t miss a beat. “I didn’t say anything about amazing.”

I snickered at the flash of surprise in Colt’s eyes. It only lasted a second before a warmer grin took over.

“Maybe our boy’s right. Maybe you’ll fit right in. God knows we need more mouthy subbie boys who don’t know when to shut up.”

“That’s definitely me!” My boyfriend looked positively triumphant.

Oh dear.

This was gonna be interesting.

When Colt left the highway, I felt the anticipation buzzing within me. A lot was at stake; a lot could happen, but I was ready to fight. I was ready to be more patient with Lucian too—or so I was convincing my butthurt feelings.

I had to look at things from his perspective, as Noa kept reminding me.

I was gonna remind him to do the same for KC.

We hit the private road leading up to the house, the path lined with tall trees and overgrown grass.

“I take it y’all are signing up for the Game this month, Cam.” Colt observed me in the rearview.

“Yes, Sir.” I was lying. I was signing up Noa, not myself. Lucian was already on the list of volunteers for dungeon monitoring during the event, so I was planning on making myself available as an assistant.

One way or another, I was gonna make sure KC and Noa were paired up for the Game, which would be a lot easier if Noa believed he was attending with me. Then he’d be relaxed enough to let me handle things.

“I’m gonna play with Lucas this time,” Kit said happily. “It’ll be a walk in the park!”

He didn’t catch the sly look between his two Daddies in the front seat. I did.

Oh, Kit.

The trees parted up ahead, revealing the house I wanted to spend a lot more time in—with Noa. The three-story Victorian loomed intimidatingly on the top of a broad hill, not a high one whatsoever, but it added to the spooky feel, nevertheless.

“Whoa.” Noa grabbed my hand in his lap and peered out between the front seats.

The property had been significantly more expensive than the house itself back when River and Reese had bought the land. It granted us seclusion with a big field, plus the forest that framed the sides and the back of the house. As our D-types loved to point out, nobody could hear you scream here.

Colt circled the grisly fountain at the end of the road and veered right toward the large carport. Noa’s gaze remained fixed on the main house.

Had the house been painted yellow or something, the view would’ve been more picturesque. The rosebushes were there; the big front porch was cozy as hell. But it wasn’t painted yellow. It was pitch black, many of the shutters were closed, and a pillory sat just off the porch steps.

It was possible I’d been restrained there once or twice.

We were far from the first to arrive, and Colt snatched up one of the last spots in the carport. Kit started rambling about the order to do things next: first, they had to unpack, then they needed a snack, and—

“Last time I checked, we made those rules, little darlin’,” Colt drawled.

Noa and I snickered and jumped out of the truck.

My phone buzzed in my pocket as I went to grab our backpacks, and I pulled it out to see a text from Reese.
