“Okay,” I say as my nerves get the best of me. I know they say it’s an honor just to be nominated, but I want this so bad. We worked hard on this movie yet I was the only one nominated. I have to win. He grabs my hands.
“You’ve got this, babe.”
“Thank you,” I say as the limo door opens. Darren steps out first and hold his hand out to me. I take it, waiting for Adam and Evie. Then we walk the red carpet. It’s something I’ve been doing since I was four years old, but this time it feels different. It feels more important. With Darren by side, everything feels that way.
Three hours later, I am holding the Best Actress statue and everything we went through making this movie was worth it.
Everything about this was worth it.
It gave me Darren and for that I’ll be forever grateful.
