Holden didn’t question him, didn’t delay, just tugged his tee over his head, then removed his pants and underwear.

“Lie down.”

Holden balled his clothes up, using them as a pillow, and sprawled out on his back.

Roe took off his clothes too, lay on top of Holden and kissed him, savored the feel of his hard body beneath him. Holden grabbed his ass, teased the crease, then rubbed Roe’s hole. Roe sure as shit wished he was a little more prepared, because he didn’t have lube or a condom with him. If he had, he would’ve given Holden his ass, or taken his. So instead, he kissed his way down Holden’s body, licked and nibbled at his nipples before continuing his journey south.

Holden was hard, and Roe nuzzled his face between Holden’s legs and breathed him in, licked his sac before working his way up to Holden’s cock.

“Fuck yes. Get your mouth on my dick. Been dying for it,” Holden said.

Roe was dying for Holden’s cock too.

It was fast and dirty from there, Holden holding the back of his head and using his mouth in a way Roe fucking loved. He pulled off only to lick Holden’s shaft or suck his balls, before swallowing around his dick again.

God, he loved giving head. Loved giving head outside in the middle of nowhere with nothing but nature and fresh air around them.

Holden’s thighs tightened beneath his hands, so Roe knew he was close. He kept working him, hungry for Holden’s load. When Holden spurted in his mouth, Roe groaned around him, making Holden shoot again. Roe swallowed it all, fucking loved it, before pushing up onto his knees. Pain shot through them, but he ignored it, jerked off until he careened into his own orgasm, his cum landing on Holden’s stomach, cock, and pubes.

“Shit.” He collapsed beside Holden. “The truck is brutal. I’m too old for this shit.”

Holden chuckled. “Kneeling wasn’t the best idea, huh?”

“Might need you to carry me after this.”

They lay there, a cum-y, sticky mess. Holden slid his arm beneath Roe, and Roe rested his head on it, playing with Holden’s chest hair.

Sometimes they talked, sometimes they were just quiet. Others they laughed, teased, just…were in a way Roe couldn’t ever remember being with anyone. Not even Lindsey or his ex.

At one point, they even napped for a while, and when they woke up, changed positions, but still not leaving.

“I don’t do stuff like this in Atlanta,” Holden said into the silence.

“Lie in the back of a truck all night?” Roe knew that wasn’t what he meant, but hoped he got a smile in response. He did.

“None of it, though. I work. I take extra flights when I can. I have friends, of course, and Vince, but none of it is like this. So…freeing. So easy. Like breathing.”

Roe’s own breath hitched. The air around them shifted, changed, and damned if Roe didn’t feel Holden deep inside him, like he’d already embedded himself there. There was no escaping it, and Roe didn’t want to, though maybe he should. None of it meant Holden was staying. “Yeah,” Roe answered. “We need to tread carefully here. You already got me feelin’ things I’m not sure I should.” Maybe it was a mistake, but they’d said they would be honest with each other. If it was too much for Holden, it was better that Roe knew now than later.

“What are you saying?” Holden asked.

“Well, I’m not confessing my love, if that’s what you’re asking, but I feel something for you.”

Holden didn’t respond right away. Roe waited him out, and eventually Holden said, “I feel something for you too. Not sure what it means for us. I have a life in Atlanta.”

“I know.” And Roe got that. Was the guy supposed to drop everything and uproot his life? But damn, did he wish things were different. “Like we said before, we’ll just be open and honest with each other.”

It was near four in the morning before they got dressed and finally got out of there.

When they got home and out of the truck, about to go their separate ways, Holden said, “Hey, Roe?”

“Yeah?”

“Can’t remember a day I had so much fun either.”

Roe watched him until he walked inside the cabin, stared at the closed door for a while afterward, then went into his own house.

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Holden

The next couple of weeks went by in a bit of a blur. Holden spent five days a week at Covington Acres, most of them with Sean. Initially, he’d asked Sean to work with him because he thought it would be good for Sean, but now he realized he’d asked him for himself just as much. Holden loved working with him, laughing with his nephew and getting to know him. They were forming the sort of bond Holden had hoped for when he first came to Harmony, but realistically hadn’t thought he’d ever achieve.
