I sat there dumbfounded. Never in my wildest dreams had I expected to hear that. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to do something like this for me. I’ve come to terms with moving. I’m okay with it.”

“My, my. Someone thinks highly of himself.” Carter winked, but then turned serious. “All my friends are in the Falls. I feel like… I feel like I can be me there in a way I never expected.”

“You’re coming home?” I asked, cupping his face.

“Yes. I’ll need to look for a place, but…”

“Move in with me.”

Carter’s eyes widened.

“We can figure all that out later. I just…fuck, I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“Are we really doing this?”

Carter grinned. “Game on.”

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Carter

“Come on,” I begged.

“I’m right there.”

I straddled Sawyer’s waist as he lay across his bed, his cock buried deep in me while he massaged mine in his hand.

“Faster,” I begged, and he sped up his forceful thrusts, making me bounce higher on the bed.

“I’m about to shoot.” Sawyer’s face tensed up, locked in a cringe as he cried out, letting me know he was coming inside me. I let myself rip, my own come shooting across his stomach. I reveled in the sensation in my ass as he continued pushing within me.

I leaned forward and kissed him, taking a moment to savor his lips as I came down from the high of our fuck.

“Now that you filled my hole, it’s time for us to fill our bellies.” I pulled back, winking.

We hadn’t had time for more than a quick fuck before we needed to get ready and head over to Jace’s townhouse for dinner, but we’d made do. I’d officially been back in Fever Falls for a week, in which time, Sawyer and I had made sure to make up for any fuck time we’d missed out on.

“I’m glad we went ahead and got that testing thing out of the way,” Sawyer said, referring to our trips to our docs to ensure we could toss condoms out the door. “Nothing like being able to come inside my boyfriend.” He glowed, wearing a bright smile, then kissed me again, his tongue slipping past my lips. I got lost in the sensation as we embraced, his cock still hard within me.

I could tell by the way we were kissing that we could have kept on like that until he was ready to go again, so I forced our lips apart. “I think we’d better get going before we wind up late.”

He growled, hooking his arms around me and rolling until I was on my back beneath him. He bit at my jaw, then my bottom lip, his hips shifting as he pushed his load around within me. I closed my eyes, reveling in the sensation as well as the pleasure of knowing he was using himself as lube inside me.

“I mean, maybe we could make time for a second round?” he said.

“Oh, has your refractory period shortened?”

“If I stay like this, we can wait it out.”

I laughed. “Naughty Sawyer,” I whispered before he kissed me again, continuing his subtle thrusts with his hips. “But just another minute like this, and then we really need to get ready.”

We enjoyed the moment together, then finally managed to pry our bodies apart. Soon after, we were on our way to Jace’s.

Serena was making dinner for the night—a first, for sure. She wasn’t the cooking type, but she had insisted, perhaps because she was jealous that Nance was always hosting dinners and barbecues at her place.

Jace’s dining-room table was packed, and while Sawyer caught up with Dax, Jace, and Nance, I did the same with Keegan and Owen. Keegan was still going to community college to knock out some core classes, and Owen volunteered at Fever Fight and tended to his princely responsibilities back in Parlaisa, his home country.

“Enough about us, though,” Owen said. “What about you guys? Last I heard, you had a promotion, and then you lost it.” The way he said it, I knew he was joking.

I rolled my eyes playfully. “Self-demoted, I like to say.”

“And Dax was all right with this?”

“All right?” Dax asked, turning away from his conversation with Sawyer. “I was fucking thrilled. Elliott came in and stole my assistant from me.” His tone dripped with sarcasm.

“It wasn’t the right fit,” I went on. “Turns out, I’m perfectly fine with living my life as the best personal assistant in the world and having the second hottest man in the world.”

“Second hottest?” Sawyer asked.

“Oh, you’re so conceited. Sorry, but you can’t beat the guy who spent two grand on the perfect nose.”

“Two grand?” Serena called out, spinning around from the stove. “Who did you blow to get it that cheap, and will you do it again for a friend?”

“Serena, you do not need a nose job!” Nance called out from the table.
