Dry drawers are overrated anyway.

Outside in the parking lot the men had lined their rides up behind and around Carol's car, that too was hot.

"Ride with Carol, I'm right behind you okay."

"Why can't I ride with you?" I pouted up at him.

"Straddling my bike with a new hood piercing won't be much fun babe, trust me, plus you won't be able to hold onto me as you should without hurting your nipples, don't argue Angel we'll be home before long, now give me a kiss to tide me over."

The kiss was wild and hot and left me on my toes and needy as it ended.

"I'm proud of you but we need to talk."

Well that burst my bubble, I was feeling kinda proud of myself as well, well the whole brawling in public thing that was kind of embarrassing, but the fact that I didn't choke showed that I'd come a long way in just a few short weeks.

He didn't look mad but there was something there, damn, maybe I could have Carol keep driving until we made it out of the state.

"Talk...?"

"Don't sweat it baby it'll keep until we get home." With one last squeeze of my ass he sat me in the passenger seat and closed the door.

I watched through the window as he pulled on his helmet before throwing his leg over the seat of his powerful bike and took the handles.

"Uuugghhhh."

"Oh you have got it bad..."

"Shut it Carol."

I couldn't take my eyes away from him, like poetry in motion, so hot and male and strong and merciful heavens when he turned his head my way with the visor in place, eyes hidden from view but I knew he was looking right at me, my kitty was off and running again.

The revving of the bikes in succession made my heart thump, my eyes were glued to his hands as they turned the handles as he sat waiting for Carol to pull out, which she did shortly, followed by a cavalcade of bikers led by the hottest man alive.

"Carol why did you call your brother?"

"Are you kidding me, can you imagine the hell he would put me through if he found out about this from someone else?"

"I think he's pissed at me."

"Nah, he might be pissed at the situation but I don't think he's pissed at you."

I had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach all the way home. What if because of his family's standing in the community I had crossed some sort of line?

Colton didn't say anything to me after ordering his crew to follow Carol home.

Upstairs he placed my packages which I'd all but forgotten in the bedroom as I followed.

"Why are you mad at me?" I hated the sound of tears in my voice, but the thought of him being upset with me after everything that had happened was just too much.

"Come 'ere."

I walked over to where he stood in the middle of the room.

"Look at me Angel, I'm not mad at you but you fucked up." He placed his finger across my lips to silence me as I was about to speak.

"You're supposed to call me whenever something's wrong with you, Carol shouldn't have been the one making that call, I'm supposed to have your back at all times, you didn't allow me to do my job, that's not good, you follow me?"

"Yeah."

"No need to be so humdrum, I'm glad you kicked her ass, I'm just saying, if it's a flat tire two doors down or a fucking spider in the corner of the room you call me, you need to know that I've always got your back, that's how we're building us, together. Now you want to tell me what the fuck that idiot did to make you kick her ass?"

I'm still stuck on the building us thing, the man sure does have a way with words.

"Well?"

"Uh...well, she just sort of crept up on us and started mouthing off at us, Carol tried to get her to go away but she kinda smacked me in the head and then she started mouthing off about me and Donna luring those boys and then crying rape..."

"The fuck... what did you say?"

"She said..."

"I heard you, what I want to know is where the fuck she heard about that?"

"She said she researched me or had me researched, I don't remember which."

Uh oh, it's true, you really can see that pulse in someone's neck when they get angry.

"Tell me all of it."

I told him everything that happened and watched him get madder and madder.

When he started pacing back and forth I was beginning to think I may need to call in reinforcements.

"Okay, what's done is done, but I want you to listen to me, if you see her or her brother you stay as far away from them as possible, you remember her brother right, the one that came to the office that day?"
