I never thought we would make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, and I was hoping to do it on the boat before the annual family vacation. That plan was scrapped since we are leaving for vacation right after the parade.

“Should we wait for an answer?” he says jokingly, and all I can do is touch my heart and then point to Vivienne. “We look forward to the news,” he tells me, and I skate back to the team.

“You know what he’s doing tonight?” Wilson looks at Cooper. “He’s going to be sleeping with your sister.” He beams with a smile. “Just like me.” Cooper just glares at him.

“If you say a word,” Michael warns beside Dylan, “I will throat punch you on the ice.” Which makes all of us laugh.

The Stanley Cup comes out, and Cooper skates over as the team's captain. He shakes Paul’s hand as he announces that the Dallas Oilers are Stanley Cup Champions.

He grabs the Cup from Paul and hoists it in the air. It’s something that every single boy dreams about doing. He passes it to Dylan, who skates around with it. I just stand in the back when I look over and see some family members coming on the ice.

I spot Vivienne, who is there with Beatrice, as she is hugged by Nico and then Manning. It’s my time with the Cup, and when I grab it in my hands, it’s a lot heavier than I thought it would be. I hold it over my head as the crowd chants my name. I do a circle, then hand it off to Tristan, who takes it from me.

I skate through the people going to the bench and see her standing on the ice hugging Cooper. She must feel me staring at her because she turns and faces me. The smile on her face is so big her eyes squint at the side. “You did it!” she exclaims, launching herself in my arms.

“We did it,” I tell her, kissing her lips, and everything else around us disappears. It’s just her and me. She buries her face in my neck as I spin her around, Beatrice jumping and barking at me. I put her down on her feet and turn to bend to hug Beatrice. “You did it also,” I praise her, and everything in me tells me this is the moment, so I fall on one knee. “Think it’s time,” I tell Beatrice, who turns and sits next to me. “Vivienne,” I say her name, and her eyes go big. “You came into my life when I was least expecting it. Killing me with kindness.” I laugh through the tears. “I still remember when you looked at me and said ‘Good talk.’” She laughs. “You have stood by my side like a pillar of strength every day since. I want to have all the babies with you. I want you to grow old with me.” The cameras are now around us, clicking away. “Vivienne Grant, will you be my wife?”

She just nods, the sobs coming out of her as she bends to hold my face in her hands. “Xavier Montgomery.” She says my name through tears. “I was made for you.”

Ten Days Later

“Are you sure this is okay?” Tristan looks at me, and I just nod my head. Over the past eight months, I’ve gotten really close to him. “It’s a family vacation. I don’t want to intrude.”

“Please,” I pfft at him. “Cooper,” I call over to him as he empties his locker. “How many people are coming on the family trip?”

“Fuck if I know. I think we were up to eighty,” Cooper says, shaking his head.

“So would two more matter?” I motion over to Tristan, and he just laughs.

“Fifteen more wouldn’t matter at this point,” Dylan interjects as Michael laughs.

“I’m dreading this plane ride,” Michael groans, looking over at Tristan. “Just make sure you bring earplugs.”

Tristan nods. “This sounds like so much fun,” he says, laughing. “What’s the worst that can happen?”

What can possibly happen?

Made For Us

Made For Us

Abigail

It was time to celebrate.

After all my hard work, I was graduating at the top of my class.

Our family vacation was the perfect chance to relax.

Until I saw him get on the plane and my plans went out the window.

Tristan's everything I've always wanted but can never have.

One night was all we had together.

Now, I’m staring at the two pink lines wondering if I should even tell him.
