“You always liked going commando.”

He grinned bashfully. “I wasn’t expecting visitors.”

“Did you want me to go?”

He paused, looked at me. “No.”

Bear swept by Remy, climbed onto the chair, and went to sleep again. Apparently, he felt at home and had claimed the chair for his own.

I followed him in, my eyes taking in the freckles along Remy’s shoulders and upper back, remembering how I used to trace them and draw pictures with my finger, connecting them.

I sat down on the couch. “I wanted to let you know I told the guys tonight, so it won’t be a surprise when they show up at the house tomorrow and see a fucking celebrity in my living room.” I grinned, and Remy rolled his eyes before sitting beside me. “They know there was something between us.”

“You told them?” His brows pulled together, but he didn’t look upset.

“No, but they know me. Not that I’ve ever been serious about anyone else, but they can tell. They’re my friends.” He looked down, and I cursed. “Fuck, I didn’t mean that like—”

“I didn’t take it to mean anything, Law. I know you. I’m your friend too.” He nudged me. “If you trust them, I trust them, remember?”

Those words did more to me than I wanted to admit, so instead, I playfully rubbed my hands together. “So much power.”

Remy snickered, then plucked at his sweats like they were the strings on a guitar. He did that when he was nervous. “I, um…spoke to Steve.”

My pulse began to thud. “About?”

“Me.” He shrugged. “You too. I mentioned an old friend here, and he told me to be careful, and I…I told him that I deserve a life, that I was thinking about going public soon. Nothing has been decided yet, and I’m not putting pressure on you. I know I only asked for friendship. It’s been a long time. I know you don’t trust me, and I don’t know if you feel the same, or hell, if you want to be together again, so yeah, I don’t know exactly what I planned to accomplish or where things will go, but I couldn’t hold it back. Seeing you again…” Remy shook his head. “I couldn’t hold it back,” he said again, and I didn’t think, didn’t hold back either.

I leaned in and kissed him.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Remington

I groaned the second Law’s mouth touched mine. Years melted away. I still knew how he moved and how he tasted and the sounds he made. It was like we were those kids all over again, who fell for each other without thinking about the future and how much it could hurt us.

He held my face, and I tangled my hands in his curls, the way I’d always done. He moaned into my mouth and pushed closer, until I was lying back and he came down on top of me. His body was so warm, so solid. I couldn’t help but buck my hips to rub my aching cock along his.

“Christ, this is stupid,” Law said, kissing his way down my throat.

“So fucking stupid.” I tightened my hold in his hair and pulled him to me so we could kiss again. “Don’t stop.”

Law chuckled against my mouth, which had always been one of my favorite things. I loved tasting his smile, swallowing his laughter like I could hold it inside me. Law sucked my bottom lip, which was so familiar, then pushed his tongue into my mouth, kissing me as if his life depended on it. We rutted together, and I cursed our clothes, wanting him naked, wanting to see the body I hadn’t stopped thinking about. The one that stole my breath. Every time I’d seen him naked, it was hard to stop looking at him. The little shit had soaked it in, lying there for me to explore him and touch him and engrave him into my memory.

I let my hands slide down his body, under his shirt, feeling the heat of him sear into the palms of my hands, before I tugged at it.

Law sat up and ripped it over his head, dropping it to the floor before falling down on top of me again. “You always liked me naked,” he said with a cocky grin.

“You’re so full of yourself.”

“You like it.” He kissed one corner of my mouth, then the other, then my chin. “You always liked it, didn’t you, Rem?” Kissed one temple, then the other, before heading south for my throat again. “Tell me.”

“I always liked it. Everything about you is so fucking alive. It was always like I could live off your energy and confidence.”

He growled, licked my collarbone, before his tongue took a journey across my neck to the other one. “I love the taste of your skin. And I felt the same about you. About your passion and your love of music. Jesus, Remy. It gave me life too.”
