“So we’re going up?” Kyle stared at him like he’d been waiting for a while. “Because if you’re not, then I’m going to my room because my shift is over and if I hustle I can make the raid we’re supposed to go on tonight at midnight Texas time. I told MaeBe I had to work, but if I can be there I will. She’s hanging with Erin right now and doesn’t get online until after the kids go to bed.”

Yeah, Kyle was really walking away from that relationship fast.

“Is Brad here?” He needed to get started.

Every second he wasted, she was in a prison.

“He got in a couple of hours before Solo and the Constance chick, though she goes by something else.” Kyle slid a key card out of his pocket and touched it to the security pad before pushing through the door.

The Cowgirl’s Choice was set back from the highway, and it looked like Sandra had built a whole compound on her land. He’d noticed several buildings behind the bar. It was dark, but the building that held the bar was at least three stories. He wasn’t sure what she used all those for.

Drake strode through. The door led to a stairwell, and to his right he could see another doorway. This one had to lead from the back parking lot, but it didn’t look like an employee entrance. This part of the building was different from the rustic chic of the bar. There was plush red carpet beneath his feet and a big desk at the door that looked like an expensively done security station. The door was made of dark wood and stained glass.

“Does Sandra live here?”

Kyle stopped on the first step, turning his way. “No, she and Angie have a house on property, but we’ll be staying on the third floor. She’s got a couple of suites up there. The women have two of the singles, I have one, and you and Brad will be sharing the big suite. Don’t worry. It’s got two beds, and only one of them is rigged for suspension play.”

And then he knew what the other part of The Cowgirl’s Choice served as. “Am I in another BDSM club?”

Kyle snorted. “Where did you think you were going? Didn’t you and Sandra used to…”

Drake held up a hand. “We worked together for a couple of jobs.”

“Yeah, I heard there was more to it.”

Drake felt his eyes narrow. “You know how it is. You partner with a sexy woman and things happen. At least mine didn’t turn out to be a psychotic killer.”

Kyle’s jaw dropped. “Fuck you. She was your sister.”

“Half sister.” The distinction suddenly seemed important. “And I enjoyed my time with Sandra. I know she’s way older than me, but she was excellent in bed and she taught me a lot. And I only had to worry about her trying to talk me into trying exotic lubes and bottoming for her in crazy fucked-up ways.”

“And leaving you for a woman.” Kyle’s lips had turned up, his eyes lighting.

It was worth it to see him not look so grim. “She was always bi. I knew that. And we weren’t ever exclusive. She was a friend and she showed me some things. So there. I’m happy she’s married now and probably using those crazy lubes on someone else.”

Kyle’s head fell back, and a booming laugh broke through the space. “I love that you had a relationship with Sandra. I love that you bottomed for her for a while.”

“I was experimenting. You know I had a lot of fun.” But when he’d really looked at it, really thought about what he enjoyed, he wasn’t much of a switch. He could play at it from time to time, but the most connection he’d ever felt was from topping a woman who genuinely needed to submit. That time with Sandra had taught him so damn much about himself. It had gotten him ready for what he wanted.

Taylor.

Fuck. He wanted Taylor. He missed her like an actual hole in his fucking soul, and nothing was ever going to fill it.

“You okay?” Kyle had a hand on his chest as though he was taking a long breath after a laugh he’d needed desperately.

“I think I’m going to leave the Agency after this is done and I’m going to commit a whole bunch of crimes and go into hiding for the rest of my life.” It felt kind of good to say it out loud.

“Are you serious?” Kyle looked around, obviously trying to make sure they hadn’t been heard.

He was going to have to tell someone. He would need backup if he was going to break Taylor out, and there was no one who enjoyed fucking over the Agency more than the Taggarts. “Do you remember Lev Sokolov?”

“The Russian double who died?”
