"What would you say? Look at her." Liam motions to me.

"What about her?" she asks.

"She has a great ass," Liam says.

She just laughs. "Yes, you look wonderful in your jeans, Briar. Will you be wearing them for the party? Or do you need to change?"

"Do I need to change?" I ask Liam.

"For dinner." He taps his jeans. "I will too." He's in casual gear today, jeans and a t-shirt.

He looks just as good in the outfit. Maybe better.

That's not surprising—jeans are sexy, period—but it's amazing how natural he looks. Like a guy who lives in jeans.

Liam Pierce rocks every outfit he wears. He's not as stylish as I am—like he said, he's constrained by the standards of fashion for men—but he looks at home more often than I do.

I feel awkward in a pencil skirt and heels. Like I'm playing a secretary in a bad porno.

It's not that I need casual—even in jeans, I'm wearing a top with mesh paneling and a lot of makeup—more that I can't stand the corporate dress code. I need flair. I need to find a way to bring flair to business attire if I'm going to run my own company.

"Are you staying in Liam's room?" she asks. "Or do you want the spare?"

"You have rooms to spare? Isn't everyone staying here?" I ask.

"Only Mr. Pierce, and he has his room," she says.

"Simon," Liam explains.

"How long do we have? Until guests arrive?" I ask.

"A few hours." Trish motions to the dining room. "Make yourself comfortable. I'll bring drinks. Liam tells me you enjoy London Fogs."

"I do," I say.

"Strong, with a little honey." She looks to me. "Is that right?"

"Yes, thank you, Trish."

She nods of course and moves into the kitchen.

Upstairs, a door opens. "Is that you?" Danielle emerges at the top of the stairs, her wavy hair messy, her marigold sundress slightly askew. "Hey." She fixes her top button. "You just got here?"

"You just got laid," Liam says.

"Maybe." She moves down the stairs with grace, aware she's making an entrance.

She looks hot. She always looks hot—between her curvy frame, her dark eyes, and her long hair, she's a babe—but she's glowing today. That sex glow.

Or maybe it's a love glow.

Maybe I'm still underestimating the power of love.

"Who calls sex in a relationship getting laid?" she asks.

He shoots me an is that right look.

"It's rare," I admit.

"How long have you two been dating again?" she asks.

"I don't care what you call it, as long as I can make my girl come." Liam wraps his hands around me. "Right, baby?"

"Uh…"

Danielle laughs.

Liam winks at her. "You can go back up there for round two. I'm not going to c-block you."

"C-block? That's tame for you," she says.

"No. Equal opportunity. All the c's," he says.

"Are there more than two?" she asks. "You know what, don't tell me. I don't want to know the depths of your depravity."

"Good call," I say.

She steps onto the main floor. Crosses the room to us.

Liam looks at her hand with curiosity. "You wash up after?"

"Would you care if I hadn't?" she asks.

"Fuck no." He accepts her hug. "But Adam… he's a possessive guy."

"Is he always this difficult?" She releases Liam and pulls me into a hug.

He's not, no. He's ramping it up now that he's here. It's as clear as day. A few months ago, I might not have seen it. Right now, it's easy. I know him. I see him.

"You look great." She releases me. Gives me a quick once-over. "You always look like a rock star."

"I do?" My cheeks flush.

"Oh yeah. Even in your sheath dress. It's effortless," she says.

"Does that make me your groupie?" Liam asks.

"Depends how often you dispense sexual favors," she says.

"As often as possible," he says.

She laughs oh, silly Liam and motions to the dining room. "Trish is making tea?"

Liam nods.

"Then let's go, sit, catch up before the drama starts," she says.

"You think so too?" he asks.

"Of course," she says.

"I told him. Simon and Vanessa. It's combustible," he says.

"No." Danielle laughs. "Simon and you."

"What?" He looks at her dumbfounded.

"I've never seen the two of you go more than five minutes without fighting." She laughs as she takes in his confused expression. "You really don't notice that pattern?"

"He starts it," Liam says.

"Uh-huh," she says.

"Bri, baby, back me up," Liam says.

"You're on your own this time," I say.

"Am I going to have to torture it out of you?" he asks.

"Absolutely," I say.

"Now, that I want to see," Danielle says.

Liam chuckles. "Is there anything you don't want to see?"

She just smiles ah, Liam, silly boy.

The same as Trish's. As Preston's.

I've even seen Adam look at Liam this way.

Has Simon? I don't know. I don't know him well, but I can tell he loves Liam.

Liam and Danielle trade teases about her voyeurism as we move to the dining room. She likes to watch. And show. It's the focus of her photography.
