I stare down at my hands, feeling bad that I let someone get into this situation. I should have taken Becky with me, should have forced her hand, and we could have gotten out together. In saying that, if I had done that, then we wouldn’t have had the upper hand as we do now. Right now, Rocco has no idea what’s being planned and because of that, Mateo and his guys might pull this off.

He has a few of the bikers with him, including Remy, Hank, and Hugh. The rest stayed behind to wait as backup. The more that went, the more obvious it would be. The fact of the matter is if Rocco does still have eyes on the club, he needs to see it running as usual. So, tonight they’re holding one of their typical parties, full of half-naked girls, beer, and a lot of music. Eve is also running an open mic night at Wildflowers.

Everything just like usual.

“You trust this Mateo?” Beckett asks Riggs, standing by my side, his body warm.

“Yeah,” Riggs nods. “I do.”

“He’s smart,” I say. “And powerful. He’ll get the job done. He’ll return Becky home safe and sound.”

“You true to fuck didn’t know who Becky was, brother?” Adan asks Beckett, arm around Ramona’s shoulder.

Beckett glares at him. “No, I fuckin’ did not. If I did, I would have been a bit fuckin’ smarter about it. Knew she had a powerful family, didn’t know just how much.”

“Well, you’d want to hope that powerful family doesn’t get beef with this club if they find out she was messin’ around in it,” Adan grumbles.

“Enough, Adan,” Riggs orders. “Let’s go on and enjoy the fuckin’ night, yeah?”

“Hear congratulations are in order,” Adan says to me, dismissing Riggs. “Good news, yeah?”

I blink slowly. Then I look to Beckett. “You told them?”

“Yeah, why the fuck wouldn’t I?”

“Because it’s so early, and we only just decided to discuss giving it a go. It might not work out yet, and...”

Beckett’s eyes flash. “Not what you were sayin’ when I was balls deep in your pussy last night, or this morning when my mouth was makin’ you scream. I think we’re goin’ to be just fine.”

My cheeks burn as I remember the night we spent together. Oh boy, what a night it was. We fucked and kissed and spent the entire night exploring. It was something else entirely. If sex is something to go off, Beckett and I will have no problems moving forward. It’s the relationship part of it I find a little tricky. I’m not confident we have it in us to work out, and I’m still not overly sure about the baby situation, but we have bigger things to worry about right at this moment.

“Anyway,” I say, cheeks going red. “Let’s just worry about finishing things with Becky and getting this over and done with.”

“What happened to the cop?” Riggs asks. “You hear from him again?”

I shake my head. “No, I haven’t. That doesn’t mean he’s done, though. I have no doubt he’ll be in contact.”

“When he is, you tell us, yeah?”

I nod. “Yes, boss.”

Riggs nods and dismisses all of us.

I could use a few hours’ sleep, but it would seem Beckett has other ideas. He drags me into a nearby room, locks the door, and has his big hands on me in minutes, his mouth to my skin, his rigid flesh pressed against me. I mean, I don’t mind, but far out, we went from zero to a hundred real quick.

“We should probably slow it down a touch,” I whisper as his mouth trails down my shoulder and over my collar bone.

“What the fuck for?”

He pulls back, staring at me.

“You having second thoughts?”

Two questions. Awesome.

“No,” I tell him. “No, trust me. It’s not that. But you pretty much hated me a few days ago, and now you’re all over me. It’s a little confusing, is all.”

His eyes scan my face. “Didn’t hate you, Pop tart. We’ve been over that. I was hurt and angry, but I never hated you. I chose to give this a go, and that’s what I’m doin’.”

“Becky hasn’t even been returned safe and sound yet. Out of respect for her, don’t you think we should wait?”

He growls. “Fuck. I hate it when you’re right.”

“It’s hard, I know. Last night was great, and I can’t wait to explore more, but it just feels...wrong.”

He grumbles, his hand going around to squeeze my ass in a way that has everything coming to life. I want nothing more than to fall into bed with Beckett and stay there, but Becky is still out there, and they haven’t resolved their issues yet. Not to mention she has no idea I’m pregnant. It’s not going to be a grand reunion. She doesn’t need to hear we’ve been hauled up in each other’s arms while she’s there, sacrificing so I didn’t have to.
