“Damn it, Misha, what game are you trying to play now?” he asked.

The growl in his voice shouldn’t be tempting, but it sent a shiver of pleasure rushing down her spine.

Did Decker know she was a virgin? Completely untouched? She had never even kissed another man, and here she was, pretty much begging for his attention, and he didn’t deserve it.

He’d rejected her. Just the thought of it was enough to set her teeth on edge. He didn’t deserve her time or her attention.

The dick.

“Do you think I’m so childish I’ve got time to play games?” She pulled out of his hold.

With his touch gone, she was able to think clearly. Staring at him, she had no choice but to tilt her head back, he was that tall. Damn it, why did he have to be sexy too?

Decker was a fine specimen of a man. All hard muscles and raw edges. She had seen him without a shirt on. A couple of months ago, some heavy rain had damaged the town hall. The following day after the rain, it had been so hot that he’d taken his shirt off. The temptation to grab popcorn and watch all his heavily inked muscles on display had been so hard to resist.

She didn’t grab popcorn, nor did she ogle him either, but she had wanted to. It wasn’t fair that he was able to ignore her, and she found each passing day harder to ignore him.

“Why are you not being … you?”

“Oh, you mean making your life easier and doing your jobs for you? I’m sorry, but the last time I checked, I didn’t have to do any job for the alpha. I help out with the pack, but I want to leave. I will get what I want, and to do that, everyone is going to have to start getting used to me not being here.”

Just saying the words out loud was enough to make her sick to her stomach. She didn’t want to leave anyone. The pack was her family.

Sinking her teeth into her bottom lip, she tried to control her emotions.

With Decker so close, she couldn’t help but run her gaze all the way down his body. He was dressed in a pair of jeans and a checkered shirt that just screamed hard-working man. The look reminded her a little of a lumberjack.

Her pussy grew wet, and her nipples tightened. This was the first time her body had awakened in front of him, and she wasn’t in the best of moods that it had. Hands clenched into fists, she took a step away.

Decker’s eyes flashed gold, and she couldn’t help but gasp. His wolf was close. The tension in the air mounted. The scent of his wolf filled her senses.

Give in.

Strip naked.

Beg.

Unlike her wolf, she had a little more restraint. Decker was not going to see her lose her mind, and she wasn’t going to allow herself to be rejected a second time.

Decker wouldn’t win this.

“You can’t keep me here, Decker,” she said. “You’re going to see that.”

“You’re going to piss off the pack?”

“Not the pack, just you.” She winked at him and couldn’t resist kissing the tips of her fingers and blowing him a kiss.

It was her parting to him as she turned her back on him.

Come after me.

Take me.

Fuck me.

Claim me.

Love me.

Decker didn’t do any of those things as she got to her apartment building. Just as she knew he would. And a little of her heart broke as she entered her home.

His father had called him with a warning that Misha Parks was in the only bar the wolves owned, and she was dressed for the manhunt.

Blueberry was with her, along with a couple of unmated females, but Misha was downing alcohol at an alarming rate.

At least, that was the report he got from his dad, who’d taken his stepmom out for a chance to dance. His father always made time for his new wife.

Staring at the bar, he was very much aware they had a group of twenty human tourists who had arrived yesterday. The local hotel had put them up.

The wolves were on good behavior, but when drinking, they were not weakened by alcohol as it simply didn’t stay in their system for too long, unless you drank erratically, drinking one beer after another. Spirits made it a little easier to get drunk, but not by much.

He took a deep inhale and didn’t smell any humans nearby, but that didn’t mean they weren’t there. The last thing he wanted to do was be near Misha while she danced. He’d watched her before, from a distance.

Misha was a free spirit. Beautiful, charming, and so graceful. She sometimes allowed the freedom during the full moon, where she’d be completely naked and believe that she was all alone, and she’d dance to whatever tune was inside her head.
