She meets my gaze, and I can see the strength simmering in her stare. The girl who first walked into that office all those months ago is no longer in front of me. Instead, she’s a woman. She’s now ready to be a queen, and she’s ready to stand beside me.

It’s been a roller coaster, but I have a feeling that Brielle was a good choice. My father knew what he was doing, even though he had no clue she’d change the way she has. My chest tightens when I think of Dad. I don’t allow memories to haunt me, but there are moments I realise that even though he’s gone, deep down, he’s still with me in so many ways.

“You can be there as long as you need to be,” I tell her. “You’ll get the answers.” It’s a promise. One that I never thought I would offer her, but right now, I want to see her smile.

Fuck this.

I have feelings.

I glance at Kai, then Valen, and they’re both fucking smirking at me. They can read me. We’re all trained to see tells from anyone we’re questioning, but there are ways to see someone who is out of their comfort zone, and right now, I am.

“I don’t see a problem with having Brielle question her father. But we will need to be present. I’m not leaving you alone with him,” Kai says as he looks at our girl.

She is ours.

There is no longer a doubt in my mind. She’s proved herself once, and I have a feeling she’ll do it again and again. Even though I still feel tense around her, I think it’s more to do with me than with her.

“Your father will die,” I tell her as I push my chair back and rise to my full height. Glancing over my shoulder, I offer Brielle a smile which is not filled with humour, but instead, drenched in a dark promise.

“I have no doubt,” Brielle replies as she steps to the side, her eyes boring a hole through me. Something about the way she looks at me reminds me of just how vulnerable she makes me.

My father taught me that emotions make you see-through. When you allow your feelings to show, people can see down to the very soul you’re wanting to hide. And I know Brielle has played her cards right. She can see who I really am.

“Meeting adjourned,” I say as I push to my feet and walk around the table toward Brielle. Her head tilts back, and she glances at me with a gentle smile on her lips.

“Am I forgiven?”

I place my hands on the arms of the chair as I lean in and meet her pretty stare. “Would you like to be forgiven? Would you like us to take you to the bedroom and show you just what you mean to us?”

Those beautiful eyes hold me hostage. I never once denied myself a woman, even when I was younger and found my place at this school. I shouldn’t have been as promiscuous as I was, but without my father watching over me, I was.

But when I finally admitted who I was, that I wanted both my best friends and we took that step. It changed everything for me. I didn’t expect to want someone else. There was never a moment in my life I thought I would marry.

“There is no doubt in my mind that I’m yours. That I belong to the three of you and I need you all to believe me. I want the trust you show each other.”

Her voice is firm, confident, and I can’t help but smile. She’s so beautiful when she’s so fiery. There’s a feverish need of desire that’s coursing through me as I look at her. The idea of her taking all three of us at the same time passes through my mind.

“Perhaps you should come with us then,” I suggest as I push away from the chair and straighten. I don’t find it easy letting someone in. Deep down, it fucking scares me, which is why I didn’t trust her when she first arrived.

I offer my hand, and smile. It’s not a friendly gesture, it’s a challenge. One I know Brielle will accept because she enjoys the push and pull.

Her slender hand slips into mine, and I pull her to her feet. I lift my gaze to Valen and Kai.

“Do you think she’s ready for this?” I smile at my best friends because they know what this means. There hasn’t been a moment in our lives where we’ve accepted a woman into our triad and taken her all at once. When we’re all inside her. When we’re joined together, it means we’re claiming her completely.

“Are you sure you want this, princess?” Valen says as he tips Brielle’s chin back with his index finger. The movement is slight, and her gaze locks on his.
