She tilts her chin. “You might.”

“I will,” I insist. “I’m in Manhattan to stay. I want in on all your friendships. I want to meet Maren and Berk’s fiancée. I want to be your date to the wedding.”

“You sure want a lot,” she teases. “What do I get in return?”

I lean down to press a soft kiss to her mouth. “You get me for as long as you want me.”

I can’t hear it. I can only feel the movement of her lips against mine as she silently mouths one word. “Forever?”

“Forever,” I whisper as I kiss her again.

CHAPTER FORTY-SIX

Sinclair

I bolt into the penthouse on Friday afternoon, hoping I’m not too late.

Jameson and I have both been busy with work the past couple of days. Our evenings have been spent treasure hunting through Denia’s belongings. At the end of each night, we fall asleep wrapped in each other’s arms after making love.

Two nights ago, Jameson whispered that I could have him forever. I’ve held tightly to that promise since, wondering if it was a heat of the moment thing or if he really meant it.

“I’m still here,” he says as soon as I step over the threshold into the penthouse.

A smile of relief settles on my lips. “I’m glad.”

“You’re glad.” He tilts his chin down. “Your nipples are glad. Is your pussy glad too?”

I glance at the front of the T-shirt I’m wearing. “It’s chilly out. I think there’s a storm coming.”

“There’s also a really great fuck coming before I take off for the beach.”

I drop my tote on the floor before I place my laptop bag on the foyer table. “Is that an invitation?”

He laughs. “It’s more of a plea. I know I’ll only be gone a day, Sin, but I’ll miss you.”

“I’ll miss you too.”

“So come to my room and sit on my face.” He taps his chin. “Then climb on my cock. Ride me until you come.”

I sigh. “I need to take Dudley out first.”

He shakes his head. “You don’t.”

I glance around. “Where’s my dog?”

Jameson laughs. “Stevie and Berk stopped by about thirty minutes ago. Your niece wanted a play date, so they took the little fur ball to Keats’s house for a few hours.”

“You saw Stevie and Berk?”

He pats one of the pockets of his suit jacket. “I had a package of jelly beans waiting for her. You should have seen the smile on that kid’s face, Sin.”

It must have rivaled the one on mine because I’m thrilled. I’m touched that he seems as happy to have seen my family as I would have been.

I move closer to dive my hand into his suit pocket. “Is there anything in there for me?”

I come up empty but keep my eyes locked on his.

He laughs. His hand falls to the front of his pants. He squeezes his erection through the fabric. “You can have this.”

I glance down. “How much time do you have before you leave?”

“As much time as you need.”

I inch closer to him to wrap both arms around his waist so I can press against him. “I need hours with you.”

His tongue darts over his bottom lip. “Tell me exactly what you want me to do to you?”

I sigh. “Maybe I’m the one who wants to do things to you.”

“Now?”

Just as my hand leaves his jacket pocket to head toward the zipper on his pants, there’s a knock at the door.

“Go away!” he calls out.

I let out a laugh. “Jameson!”

“What?” He smiles. “You want them to leave just as badly as I do.”

Another knock fills the air.

I try to take a step back, but his hands are on my shoulders immediately, holding me in place.

I cock a brow. “What are you doing?”

“Keeping you all to myself,” he whispers. “I don’t care who wants in here right now. I want in you.”

I slap a hand across his chest. “You’re so bad.”

“I’m so good.” He grinds his body against mine. “That’s why you want to do things to me.”

I can’t argue with that, so I don’t.

A series of hard knocks interrupts us yet again, but this time they’re accompanied by a man’s voice. “James? Are you in there?”

Our eyes meet, and I see as much surprise in his expression as I feel. “That’s your brother, isn’t it?”

Jameson nods. “It sure as hell sounds like him. What the fuck is he doing here?”

I tug free of his grasp. “There’s only one way to find out.”

“Don’t answer that, Sin,” he calls after me as I sprint toward the door.

I swing it open to find Holden dressed in jeans and a light blue polo shirt.

“Hey, Sinclair.” He smiles. “Is Jameson around? I’m here to give him a lift to East Hampton.”

“That’s kind of you.” I grin. “Please, come in.”

I turn to face Jameson. His hand is raking his hair as he shifts his gaze from my face to the man behind me. “Holden?”
