His grip tightened on her shoulders and he thrust in and out a few more times before he came with a shout. Abby could barely feel it because of the numbing gel, but there was no mistaking the expanding and contracting of his cock as he shot his load deep into her ass. She let go of the headboard and put her hands on the mattress, barely holding herself up.

Mark took the stainless steel butt plug he’d left on the nightstand, coated it in lube, and slowly extracted his dick. When the head came out with an audible pop, he slid the plug in. Abby was ready, relaxed and accepting, having known he was going to do it. When the plug was seated, she finally collapsed onto the bed. He unbuckled her gag and threw it onto the floor. They were both still panting.

He grabbed her and pulled her close, nuzzling her hair. “You dropped your ball,” he finally said.

“I wanted it to be good for you. I needed both hands to make it good.”

He cupped her face in his hands and gazed at her. “Are you really mine?” he asked, as though he couldn’t believe it.

“Yes, Sir. Always yours.”

He kissed her deeply, tongue taking possession for a bit. She closed her eyes and pressed her body into him. When he released her, she was slightly out of breath again.

“I can’t eat the cake,” she whispered. “I’m too tired.”

He sighed, contentedly. “Me, too.”

“Lock me in so we can go to sleep, Sir.”

He gazed at her a little longer, as though he was still unsure of it all. Then he nodded, bringing up the chain from the post and attaching it to her wrist cuffs, still giving her plenty of slack. He put the padlock on the back of her collar so it couldn’t be removed and she turned on her side, away from him, but moved back a little so she was pressed up against him. He draped his arm around her. She brought his hand up, between her breasts and kissed his palm. She pressed it to her breast and he squeezed firmly, holding her in a gentle but iron grip. Abby drifted to sleep, feeling secure and satisfied.

CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

On Poker Night, Abby headed directly to the kitchen when she and Mark arrived to see if Sarah needed any extra hands in the kitchen. The smells of her cooking were delicious as usual, but the normally bubbly older girl was looking a little down.

“What’s wrong?” Abby asked, washing her hands at the Sullivan’s kitchen sink.

Sarah sighed. “Nothing. It’s nothing.”

“No, really,” Abby insisted. “Are you sure you don’t want to talk about it?”

Sarah paused and turned to Abby. She chewed on her lower lip then peered around Abby at the doorway to the kitchen. “Okay,” she finally said. “But not here.”

Intrigued, Abby watched Sarah adjust the flame on the chili she was simmering and both women headed upstairs to Chris and Sarah’s master bedroom, away from the men.

Abby gaped at the huge framed picture of the badlands in the moonlight that hung over the bed.

“That’s where we got married,” Sarah informed her, perching on the edge of the bed.

“It’s beautiful,” Abby replied.

Sarah nodded, but then was quiet again.

“You can talk to me, Sarah,” Abby assured her. “Whatever it is, I won’t tell anyone. Not even Mark.”

This seemed to have an impact because Sarah nodded. She sighed heavily. “We’re trying to have a baby,” she announced.

Abby gasped and threw her arms around her newest friend. “Oh my God, that’s awesome!”

Sarah returned the hug but not as enthusiastically. “Yeah, it is, but...”

“But what? He doesn’t want a baby?”

“No, he does,” Sarah said quickly. “A lot. And so do I. And that’s the whole problem.”

Abby frowned. “I don’t follow you.”

Sarah scowled. “It’s not working,” she confided. “It’s been months now. Plural. And nothing. And now my bathroom is filled with ovulation test kits and a thermometer and other things you don’t want to know about, but we’re not getting anywhere. And I’m okay with that,” Sarah assured Abby. “I was on the pill and the doctor says it can take a while sometimes for things to go back to normal. But the problem is...” She trailed off and looked away.

“The problem is...” Abby prompted.

“The sex,” Sarah wailed. “It’s awful!”

Abby gaped at her, shocked. “Oh. Um...” This was really awkward. Not because Abby was uncomfortable talking about sex. God knew in her time with Mark she’d loosened up a lot when it came to physical pleasures, but Chris? Bad in bed? Abby couldn’t picture the buff, handsome ex-Special Forces lieutenant being bad at anything at all. Least of all that.

“It didn’t used to be,” Sarah confided. “But now it’s all scheduled and timed and all I’m ever thinking about is ‘Is is going to work this time?’ And I know he’s frustrated. It’s not fun for him anymore, either. I mean, we...we do some stuff.”
