“Yes, I do.” He shrugs and turns to my girl. “Mr. Soracco is a great employer.” My threat flies right over this idiot’s head.

“Then stop making a pass at my woman.” I guess I must spell it out clearly for the dumbass.

“Oh.” Tom’s face turns beet red as he backpedals. “I didn’t realize that you’re together,” he sputters. “I arrived late.”

“Don’t make the same mistake again.” I dismiss him and turn to wrap my arms around Oakley. “Stay close.” I kiss her nose. “So I don’t have to fight or fire someone.”

“You’re the one who walked away,” she reminds me.

“I thought you’d stay next to Giant and Hacker.” I’m going to have a talk with my brothers about letting her out of their sight.

“I had to go to the restroom.” She shrugs. “And I’m a big girl so I thought I could do it alone.”

“Not with the fucking horny assholes circling,” I growl against her lips before kissing my girl to within an inch of her life. When we finally come up for air, I realize the display should scream loud and clear that Oakley belongs to me.

“The Silver Spoon Falls water is responsible for turning another one into a raving lunatic.” Gloria walks up and smiles at my girl. “Hi, sweetie. I’m Gloria. You are even prettier in person.”

“Nice to meet you, too.” Oakley beams back at her. “When did you see me?”

“Your caveman has a picture of you in his room at the clubhouse.” Shit. I forgot that my girl hasn’t seen my room yet.

“Oh.” An adorable blush moves up Oakley’s neck and settles on her gorgeous face. “I didn’t know you had a picture of me.”

“Aunt Tilly gave me one,” I tell her, not caring if I sound like a pussy-whipped asshole.

“That’s so sweet,” she gushes, and I barely resist the urge to throw her over my shoulder and rush for the door.

The night is winding down when I pull Oakley into my arms for another dance. “You charmed all my brothers.” I kiss the side of her neck and take a deep breath, dragging her sweet fragrance into my lungs.

“I like them all.” She leans back and stares into my eyes. “But I love you.”

“I love you so fucking much.” I give her a squeeze. “The thought of another man touching you drives me insane,” slips out before I’m able to catch the words.

“You don’t ever have to worry about me letting another man touch me.”

“In my heart, I know that, but my mind still worries.” My girl is honest, loving, and loyal. I don’t have any concerns about her staying faithful to me. “There’s one thing you could do to put my mind at ease.”

“What?” Oakley hugs me tight. “I’ll do anything.”

“Marry me.” I think I’ve managed to shock her. My girl stumbles a little in my arms and steps on my toe while her mouth opens and closes with no words emerging.

“It’s only been two weeks.” She swallows.

“I fell in love with you within two seconds.” I pull Oakley’s curvy body close and lay my forehead against hers. “I’ll give you more time if you need it, but I’ve already decided that you’re the one for me. I’m going to marry you and spend the rest of my life making you happy.”

“Can we go back to your apartment and talk about it?” Her words cause my heart to clench in my chest, but I nod my head.

“Let’s go.” No matter what it takes, I’ll make Oakley mine. Even if I have to tie her to my bed and give her so many orgasms she can’t find the strength to refuse me.

Chapter Ten

OAKLEY

The entire ride back to his apartment, I practice my speech. I want to marry Rafe more than anything in the world, but I have a few concerns we need to work out first.

Rafe leads me into the dark apartment and kicks the door shut with his foot. “Okay.” He wraps his arms around me. “What are you worried about?” I feel the tension running through his massive frame and my mind goes blank.

“I love you,” I start off. “And I want to spend the rest of my life with you, but there are some things we need to discuss.” I sound like a broken record.

Rafe drags me into the living room. We sit side-by-side in silence for a few minutes while I decide how to approach the subject.

“I have things I want to accomplish,” I tell him. “I worked too hard to get a degree to give up my career so soon,” I blurt out, hoping my rambling makes sense to him.

“I never asked you to give up your job.” Rafe frowns. “I’ll do whatever it takes to make you happy.”

I don’t think he understands what I’m trying to say, so I elaborate while hoping I’m not making a total mess of this. “I want to quit and stay home with our children.” He opens his mouth, but I hold up my hand, silencing him. “One day.” The confusion on his face tells me I’m still doing a cruddy job of explaining. “I want to wait a few years to have kids. Until I feel like I’ve gotten enough experience at teaching that I can return once the kids are older.”
