I wasn’t a fan of crowded spaces and loud noises, but I was a fan of booze, women, and my friends. So, I put aside my work and joined them at a club in Manhattan. Ryan was there, along with a few other old classmates. I didn’t have a lot of friends at work because they were mostly colleagues, but we did have a lot more in common because we worked on the same projects.

We sat at a half-circular booth on a platform, getting VIP treatment because I threw a bunch of cash at the club manager. It didn’t matter that I didn’t have a celebrity face or a name that was famous to everyone. Money was the only thing that mattered, and since I was the only billionaire in the group, I was the one who forked over the cash.

I didn’t care. I had nothing else to spend it on anyway.

A hot waitress in a short dress served us our drinks exclusively, and eventually, a couple girls came to join us, the exact type we were looking for—hot.

A blonde sat next to me, wearing heavy eye shadow, thick mascara, and black lipstick that was sexy in contrast to her fair skin. She held a drink in her hand and sat close to me, her hand moving to my arm. “You work out, huh?”

I flexed my arm so she could feel the muscle bulge in her grip.

“Ooh…”

Ryan nudged me in the side. “You and Fleur over for good this time?”

“We can’t be over if we were never together in the first place.” I turned back to my date. “Derek.”

“Tanya. I spotted you the second I walked inside, sitting up here like a king. Married?”

“No.”

“Well, I don’t care if you are.”

No one cared. “I’m really not married.”

“Because you’re sexy and rich, so you never have to get married?”

“Something like that.”

She moved farther into me and pressed a kiss to my neck, slowly moving up until her lips were close to my ear. “That’s so hot…”

Tanya went to the bathroom, got in the long line for the ladies’ room.

I was taking her to my penthouse so I could fuck her then never see her again. It took a lot more work to have the conversation in the beginning, to spend a few hours flirting back and forth before I got to the finish line. But it was still better than having Fleur drag me down.

Ryan nudged me in the side. “Fleur is here…and she’s staring at you.”

I kept my eyes on Ryan and didn’t turn in the direction he glanced. “You’re serious?”

“Unfortunately.”

“Are you sure it’s her?”

“Yeah, because she looks like she’s about to cry.”

She must have seen me kiss Tanya before she walked into the bathroom.

“Why can’t I get away from this woman?”

“I don’t know. But after you see her, you may not want to.” He nudged me in the side again before he headed out, leaving solo because he was committed to the woman waiting for him.

I sighed before I turned to look at her.

She was in a short black dress with a deep V down the front, showing her perfect tits pressed together in a beautiful display of cleavage. Her hair was straight and long, reaching down one shoulder, and her makeup was heavy and thick, giving her a dark look. And as Ryan said, she looked devastated. Everyone in the club danced and talked loudly around us, but the two of us were stuck in a time vortex, where everything slowed down.

I already knew what was going to happen before it did.

She walked up to me and slapped me across the cheek.

I turned back to her, pissed off that she’d touched me that way, but also aroused by the insane chemistry we shared. It was up one moment, down the next, unpredictable. We were all over the damn place.

Then she kissed me, her hands cupping my face and planting her lips hard on mine.

The spark turned into an inferno instantly, and we burned white-hot. Her claws dug into my flesh, and she wouldn’t let me go. She was like a fucking boomerang. I threw her away, but she always came back.

The kiss turned hot and greedy, our mouths devouring each other.

I knew how this would end, but I didn’t stop it. I knew I didn’t want to be stuck with this woman again, but my dick overruled my mind, and I got pulled under once again. It felt so wrong but so right at the same time.

She spoke against my lips, pulling on the fabric of my shirt. “Take me home…”

Fleur had a fashion shoot the next morning, so it was easy to get rid of her.

I fell into the chair at the dining table with my coffee and dragged my hand down my face. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and yawned, wiped out from last night. It was a fucking blur. But when I saw Fleur beside me this morning, I realized what I had done.
