Parker rolled his eyes, but Marcus said, “Corbin.”

“What?” Corbin said.

“I’m answering the question. I would fuck you.” Marcus crossed his arms.

“Wait. No shit? I mean, of course you would. Why wouldn’t you want to?” Corbin looked more surprised than he probably wanted to.

“Really?” Parker asked.

I just sat back and let them do their thing.

“Yeah,” Marcus said, “it makes the most sense. Corbin is the most sexually active of all of us. Declan rarely sleeps with anyone, so it would just be awkward. I know he’s not big on making himself vulnerable in any way—”

“Why do I feel like there’s an insult in there somewhere?” I asked Marcus.

“You and me both,” Corbin said. “I thought you picked me because I’m the best lay.” He ate another bite of the doughnut, then pushed it away, as I knew he would. He wouldn’t want to risk gaining a pound. One of his Instagram followers would no doubt point it out.

“Yeah, right,” Parker countered.

I couldn’t help wondering what they would all think if they knew about Sebastian. Even though we weren’t and never would be in a relationship, what would they say if they knew I had someone I’d been fucking longer than any of them had been with the same person.

Marcus continued, “Parker is all heart, and while he hooks up, I know he wants it to mean more. He’s looking for long-term, so I wouldn’t want to blur those lines. Corbin just makes the most sense.” Leave it to Marcus to have a logical, thought-out answer so quickly.

“Again, because I’m a great lay.”

We all ignored Corbin.

“Marcus,” Parker answered the question next, making my gaze shoot to him.

“Really? Not me?” I asked, uncharacteristically. Not that I wanted to fuck Parker, but we were close. We shared more with each other than we did with Marcus and Corbin.

“Yeah, for the reason Marcus said. Not that I don’t love Marcus and Corbin just as much as you, but you and I have a different relationship, and while I don’t see you as more than a friend, I feel like those lines could be blurred more easily with you. Marcus would go all Marcus about it like he did when he gave me and Corbin our first kisses. It would be more like a business transaction.”

Marcus looked miffed. “Are you saying I treat sex like a business transaction? Just because I’m more logical doesn’t mean I don’t know how to fuck.”

“Dude, I’m not questioning your sexual abilities. I’m just saying it would be easy to know what it is with you, while with Declan I’d be thinking about the fact that he doesn’t do that as often, and it would be easier for my heart to play tricks on me. You guys know I’m a fixer and—”

“Wait,” I interrupted. “You think I’m broken and that your fall-for-unavailable-men gene would get activated with me?” I wasn’t sure I liked Parker’s answer.

“Oh my God. I don’t think you’re broken. I change my answer. It’s Declan.”

“Uh-oh,” Corbin snickered.

I’d bet the listeners would get a kick out of all this back-and-forth over one question.

“Don’t do me any favors, Park,” I replied, unable to figure out why I was annoyed. “I pick Marcus too.”

“Did you just sympathy-fuck me?” Marcus asked.

“We didn’t really fuck,” I countered.

“Why isn’t anyone picking me?” Corbin asked.

“Marcus picked you,” Parker told him, “and I didn’t because you’d probably already be busy with someone else and I’m not into threesomes. Though the one I had four years ago was really fucking hot. We spit-roasted this guy who had the most talented mouth I’ve ever been inside…and they got married six months ago.”

“They were dating when you hooked up?” Corbin asked.

“No, I was dating one of them, but they fell in love with each other. Ugh. Now I’m depressed. Why do I have the worst luck ever with men?” Parker groaned and dropped his forehead to the table.

We were all quiet for a moment before we burst into laughter.

Marcus settled down first. “The past ten minutes, ladies and gentlemen, are exactly why none of us have hooked up.”

I concurred. And also, was this episode ever going to end? I felt like it had been going forever.

“Wait. I didn’t get to answer,” Corbin said. “I pick Declan.”

“Huh?” That surprised me.

“The repressed ones are always freaks in the sheets.” Corbin waggled his brows.

“I hate you. And I’m not repressed. I just think most people suck.”

“He’s not wrong,” Marcus said. “But I think we can move on now. What’s the next question?”

“I’ll read this one.” Parker reached for the tablet, and Corbin slid it to him. “‘Dear Vers, thank you all for what you do. You’re the best part of my week.’” Parker clutched his chest. “Aww, that’s so sweet!” He continued, “‘What are your thoughts on the queer community and their fascination with straight-acting gay men and guys with perfect bodies in general? It’s really hard for someone in their early thirties who is softer or rounder or not society’s idea of attractive than it is for all the Insta gays. Shouldn’t we be better than that? Why do we put so much stock into how someone looks? And what’s someone like me, who doesn’t fit that mold, supposed to do? Sincerely, Average Gay.’”
