JB chuckled as he worked to catch his breath. “Now we have to wash again.”

“I don’t care.” Cole grabbed the soap. “But I think I’ll wash myself this time. Your hands will get me going.”

“Again? What stamina you have.” JB turned into the spray and grabbed the shampoo bottle.

He probably couldn’t get it up again so soon, but he didn’t want to chance it. JB brought out something in him he was unfamiliar with, and he’d have to spend some time thinking on it. He washed the cum off his stomach and chest and switched places with JB under the spray. They moved about like they’d been showering together forever and again, that strange feeling of warmth filled his chest. He tried to think back on if he’d ever felt this comfortable with a woman and though yeah, he’d showered with one before, he hadn’t felt the same sense of camaraderie he felt with JB. It felt as though they were friends as well as lovers now.

And wow, did that make him do a mental double take. He was lovers with a man. He was obviously not as straight as he’d thought, and this had all just come out of left field for him.

When they were both clean, Cole remained silent as JB shut off the water and grabbed them a couple of towels. He dried off, his mind still reeling. JB walked naked out of the bathroom, shooting him a wink over his shoulder as he did.

But Cole was caught up in his swirling thoughts. His shock and now a sudden case of sudden nerves. Did he plan to do more with JB while he was here? And worse…what if his heart got involved?

Chapter Sixteen

JB pulled his cell phone out of his pocket for the second time in as many minutes and frowned at it. Was he really going to do this?

Well, he could go on driving himself crazy with an endless torrent of thoughts that went nowhere.

But calling Noah might actually result in him getting something useful done during the day and not fucking up everything he touched.

He paced a short distance away from where he had Bandit loosely tied to a tree and pulled up Noah’s number. It was unlikely he’d answer. He had to be busy with work, or at the very least, driving his boyfriend crazy. Not that Rowe Ward needed a bit of help with that. That man was twelve shades of crazy all on his own.

“Hey, cowboy!” Noah answered with a big grin in his voice on the second ring.

JB found himself grinning in reply, a surprising warm joy flooding his stomach. It wasn’t the same kind of butterflies he used to get whenever he spoke to Noah. They had mellowed over the past few years and now it was that bond of friendship that bound them together. It also didn’t hurt they’d survived a few explosions together.

“Hey, old man. This is my regular call to make sure that boyfriend of yours hasn’t blown off any important parts,” he teased.

Noah’s chuckle drifted into his ear, brushing away some of the tension tightening the muscles in his shoulders. “Nah. I still got all my bits and pieces. How’s that hacker I sent your way? I’m sure he’s causing all kinds of mischief on your ranch.”

JB snorted, but it was the rush of butterflies into his stomach that was so disturbing. Just the mention of him—not even his name—and JB could feel himself get all swoony like a sixteen-year-old girl. Fantastic.

“Cole?” he asked, trying to play it cool.

“You got another Ward Security employee tucked away on your ranch?”

Okay, that was too cool.

“Not recently. If you need to send me more, I could put one or two out in the barn.”

“Smartass.”

“Cole’s good. He sticks to the house and his computers mostly, but the guys all like him.”

Noah laughed suddenly. “You should have seen the expression on his face when we told him he was going to a cattle ranch in Texas. Poor man looked like he was having a heart attack.”

JB winced. That was not reassuring in the least. “Really?”

“Yeah. He asked three times about your Internet speeds. Also, the distance between the ranch and the nearest cell tower. Has he rebuilt all your computers and systems yet?”

“Should I be worried about that?”

“Nah…well…maybe. It kind of depends on how long he’s there. If we keep him on vacation much longer, he’s bound to get antsy. Just keep an eye on him. Take him out for a ride.”

JB flushed and paced a few more steps away from his horse, blood starting to fill his dick. He’d love for Cole to fucking ride him. That would make the man forget all about his computers, Ward Security, and ever going back to Cincinnati.

“So, have we bullshit enough for you to finally tell me why you really called?” Noah playfully drawled.
