We’re in a different galaxy now, having gone through the hole that was found on their way to retrieve me from Earth. But however much time we have left on this ship, I want to spend it alone with Selina. The eagerness and excitement in her eyes, though, makes it impossible to refuse her.

“Fine. Breakfast, a tour, and then the moment we get back here …” I slide my hand up her thigh, bringing her smock up with it until my hands are right against the heat coming through her soft undergarments keeping her pussy from me. “I want you naked with your thighs spread for me.”

I crook my finger and her breath hitches, desire blazing in her eyes. But when I lean forward to kiss her, they narrow, and she pushes me back.

“I know what you’re trying to do, Bo.” She shakes her head at me. “You’ll give me what I want before you get what you want.”

“What you want, too,” I say.

“Oh, I need no reminding of how much I want you, my love.”

My love. She’s taken to calling me that over the last little while. Sheepishly at first, as if she wasn’t sure how I’d respond to the affectionate name. I’m sure on her planet, males did balk at being called pet names, but I’ve made sure to grab her for a kiss each time she’s said it to me. I made sure to let her know how much hearing her say those words strikes my heart every time. This time is no different. She begins to get off the bed, but I put my hand to her hips to stay here, bringing my lips to hers for a slow, soft kiss. By the time I back away, her eyes are closed and I get the joy of watching them flutter open, the blue and green twinkling with a smile as much as her lips are.

“You’ll braid my hair?” she asks.

“Of course, I will.”

Something else we’ve taken to doing. Vabila had braided her hair when she first bathed aboard the ship and Selina had liked wearing it that way so much that she asked me to ask her to do it again. But I’d volunteered instead. It’s become a daily thing for us now. I love it. Having my fingers in her hair, feeling the way she relaxes as I weave the pieces of her hair together. I take more time than I need to, just to have the moments last as long as possible. I guess I’ll have to do it quickly today if we want to be on time for breakfast.

I braid her hair and then dress myself, but not without longingly looking at the bed and wishing I was undressing to get back in it instead.

“Would you stop it?” Selina laughs. “You act like we’re never coming back.”

“Let’s just make this quick,” I grumble as the door slides open.

“Hmm, is this the grumpy side of my mate?”

“I do not have a grumpy side.”

“Ha!” a voice barks out and I know exactly who it belongs to.

“What’s so funny Vabila?”

“That you don’t think you have a grumpy side. I can assure you, you do. You also have an annoying side, a stubborn side. Oh, the memories I can show you, Selina.”

“You can show me memories, too?” Selina asks excitedly.

“Anything Bo can show you, I can, too. Well …” Her smile turns rueful. “Almost anything.”

I chuckle. “I’m telling mother you’re being a nuisance.”

“Ah, yes. He was quite the tattltale growing up, too.”

“Someone had to keep you and Halun out of trouble,” I point out as we all begin walking towards the dining hall. “He was the wild one. You were the one who was, and is, too curious for her own good. Someone had to be the responsible child.”

She barks out another laugh. “So delusional to think that was you.”

“Oh, do tell me about when my mate wasn’t so studious,” Selina says.

“Have you heard anything from Halun?” I ask, not wanting that conversation to go any further. I’m sure my mother will show her more than enough embarrassing memories of me when we reach Hallalah.

“I did. I didn’t want to interrupt your and Selina’s … time together, so I told him I would just relay what he told me.”

I have to hold in a laugh at the way Selina’s cheeks turn pink at my sister’s insinuation.

“How goes his campaign on Earth?” I question, but I’m aware that I’m not the only one anxious to know.

Selina’s hand tightens on mine as we await Vabila’s answer. No matter the way human society restricted my mate, or the backwards beliefs they spread, that was still her home. I’m sure there are people there she worries for, most of all her mother. I have plans for settling some of her worries, but I’d rather not tell her until I’ve finalized them. Until I’m sure they’ll work out.
