His words made her pleasure spike so sharply she couldn’t hold back as the orgasm rose, huge and molten and impossible to fight.

“Ohhhh!” she moaned, writhing between them. “Oh God, coming…coming so hard!”

“That’s it,” Severin said hoarsely. “Let go. Let me feel your sweet pussy grip the wand. Give me the sample, sweetheart. Give your body what it needs.”

Cassie couldn’t answer with anything but a broken cry.

The orgasm rolled through her in deep, pulsing waves, different from the one Ravik had given her with his mouth. This one was fuller, heavier as she felt her pussy clenching around the wand again and again while the Beast Kindred’s fingers kept stroking her clit and Severin thrust the wand deep inside her. Her whole body shook between them, caught and held and utterly surrounded by pleasure and warmth.

The bite wound flared gold again and for a moment the light was bright enough to light the room, painting both Ravik and Severin in the same warm glow. Then, as her pleasure ebbed at last, it slowly faded, sinking back beneath her skin until only the faintest shimmer remained.

Cassie sagged boneless and panting against Ravik’s broad chest. She couldn’t ever remember being so tired.

Severin stopped moving the wand at once and Ravik’s hand stilled, just cupping her pussy now. For a few seconds, none of them spoke.

Cassie couldn’t have said anything if her life depended on it. Her body felt wrung out and full and strangely peaceful. The empty ache was gone. The frantic need was gone. Even the low murmur of the Hunger had quieted to almost nothing. This time she knew she was finished—it wasn’t going to bother her again tonight.

Severin’s breathing was ragged and Ravik’s was too. Both of them were hard again, or still hard—Cassie could feel Ravik’s rigid shaft against her backside and see the thick outline of Severin’s in his trousers. But neither of them moved to take anything from her, they just held her there between them as everyone caught their breath.

At last Severin looked down at the handle of the collection wand and nodded.

“What?” Cassie asked weakly.

He didn’t answer at first. Carefully, slowly, he withdrew the wand from her body.

Cassie whimpered at the loss of fullness, but Ravik tightened his arms around her and murmured something soothing against her hair.

“Cassie is all right,” he assured her. “Everything is fine.”

Severin held the wand up to the amber light.

Inside the clear shaft, the collection chamber was filled with her honey…only it didn’t look like any ordinary fluid sample.

It shimmered.

Oh my God—what he hell? Cassie wondered. The sample was pearly and pale gold, threaded with faint sparks of light that seemed to swirl slowly through it, almost as though it was alive. She stared at it, her exhausted brain trying and failing to make sense of what she was seeing.

“That’s…from me?” she asked at last.

“Yes.” Severin’s voice was very quiet.

“Is it supposed to glow?”

“No.”

Cassie closed her eyes for a moment.

“Of course not. Why did I ask?”

Ravik leaned forward, looking over her shoulder at the wand.

“Cassie’s honey is pretty,” he observed.

Cassie gave a weak laugh.

“That is maybe the weirdest compliment I have ever gotten.”

“It is more than pretty,” Severin said. His eyes were fixed on the shimmering sample, and his face had gone pale with wonder. “It’s changed. The anti-viral activity must be extremely high. I’ll need to test it, but Cassandra…” He looked up at her at last. “This may be the first stable form of the cure for the Hunger Virus.”

At first Cassie didn’t understand. She looked from the glowing wand to Severin’s face and then down at her own arm. The bite wound was calm now, barely shimmering. Her body was calm too, still humming faintly with pleasure but no longer screaming at her.

She should have felt relieved—she did feel relieved. But underneath that relief was something else—something bigger and stranger. Because if Severin was right, then the cure wasn’t just in her blood. It wasn’t just in Ravik’s seed or Severin’s science or the weird, humiliating virus pathway that had made her crave sex instead of flesh.

It was in what happened after the three of them came together—because this sample had been taken after she drank the two Kindreds’ cream.

Cassie swallowed hard, tying to take it all in.

“So…my body is making glowing anti-zombie honey now?” she asked, trying for a light tone.

Severin frowned.

“That’s not exactly what I would call it but in the simplest terms, yes. As I said, I’ll have to test it to be sure.”

Ravik nodded solemnly.

“Cassie is miracle.”

Cassie almost laughed.

“I wouldn’t say that exactly.”

“Truth,” he rumbled.

Severin set the wand carefully into its sterile case and sealed it, though his hands were not quite steady.

“I need to get this to the lab.”

“Of course you do,” Cassie said, but her voice was soft now…tired. In fact, she didn’t know when she’d felt this tired. All the science sex the three of them had done together that night and the way her body had been fighting the Hunger Virus all day had worn her completely out.
