I grind down on his big dick and take him deep.

“That’s my girl,” he says, growling as I glide back up, working my hips. “Fuck, baby, I don’t know how long I can handle you riding me like this.”

“Handle it.” I go faster, fucking him. “I want all of you, Rafe. Oh my god, it feels so good.”

He bites my shoulder, hands spreading my ass open as he pounds into my pussy. His desk shakes and a picture falls off. Pens rattle and roll to the floor. His chair creaks and we don’t stop. He grinds and fucks into me, his big dick stretching me wide and destroying me, and I can’t stop.

“You feel so good.” I bite his lip and moan into his kiss. “Please don’t stop. I’m so fucking close.”

“I want to feel you come, baby,” he pleads, and there’s an edge of urgency. “I’m so close. I’m going to break, baby, if you don’t come—“

I cry out, arching, tits pressed to his face. I make the big, bad, scary mafia man crumble. I ruin him like he ruins me and the thought finally breaks me, pulls my triggers, and sends me tumbling to hell.

I come so hard I almost black out. I feel him coming too, filling me between my legs, heaven on fire. He snarls, biting my nipples, sucking, licking, kissing, his mouth finding mine as I gasp for air, sweat rolling down my back.

I’m so small in his lap. He could break me if he wanted.

Instead, he strokes my hair. “Perfect, June, so fucking perfect.” He sounds like he’s barely holding himself together.

“That was good, wasn’t it?”

“God, baby, it was exactly what I needed.”

I stay like that for a few minutes longer. We don’t have forever though. I’ll go join Priya and Hattie soon.

But for now, I can be with my husband.

I can be a wife, the way I’ve always wanted.

“I’ve been thinking,” I whisper, and I feel a strange piece of me click into place. Maybe it’s how relaxed I am, or how vulnerable I feel naked and in his lap like this, but I want to tell him the truth. I want to give him this last part of me.

“What’s that, love?”

“This meeting me and Beth are going to plan. I know what you should do there.”

He chuckles and kisses my neck. “We’re going to vote.”

“That, but also something else.”

He leans back to study my face. His smile disappears. “You’re having wicked thoughts, aren’t you?”

“I might be. I’m just so angry. Is that bad?”

“Not at all.” His thumb grazes my lips. “Tell me what you’re thinking.”

“It’s violent. It’s not very nice at all.”

“Good. Give me your plan, love, and don’t spare any details.” He grabs my ass roughly. “And if it’s nice and bloody, it might even get me hard again.”

“You are deeply fucked up, you know that?”

“Yes, love, I do.” He kisses me and I love it. “Now, talk.”

RAFE

My footsteps echo down the hall as I march toward the meeting room.

Silas walks at my right hand. Cassian on my left. Kellan and Devlin trail behind.

My brothers know how important this moment is to the future of our family.

“All our hard work hinges on a fucking vote,” Silas says when we reach the door. Inside are the Capos and Lieutenants, the men important enough to deem worthy of showing up and getting a say tonight. “You do know it’s nearly split down the middle?”

“Nearly being the operative word there,” Devlin says with a manic grin. “All we need is one.”

“I can even the numbers,” Cassian offers, touching a hand to his belt. I’m guessing he’s got at least a dozen knives hidden on his person.

I face them. These four men I helped raise after our parents burned.

Each gazes back steadfast and calm.

Clever and charming Silas.

Brutal and quiet Cassian.

Brash and outgoing Kellan.

Wild and ambitious Devlin.

The four pillars of my life.

It’s strange, pausing here with them now. I remember when they were children. Especially Devlin, the youngest of us.

Now we’re men. Our knuckles are inked in black: ASHES. The promise we swore to each other, the vow we took.

“Whatever happens in there, you are my brothers.” I meet each of their gazes. “I’m honored to be your Don, and I’ll do whatever it takes to hold this family together.”

Silas speaks first. He puts a hand on my shoulder. “It’s not all on you, brother.”

“He’s right.” Kellan wraps an arm around Devlin. “You think you’ve been doing all this shit alone?”

“If only,” Cassian mutters grimly.

“What they mean is we’re in this together.” Silas squeezes tighter. His normal smile is gone. “We have your back. To death and ash.”

“Death and ash,” I say, pressing back against the flood of emotions I feel.

We’ve worked so hard to get where we are now. Powerful, connected, dangerous. And if tonight goes right, we’ll take that next step up.
