“That doesn’t sound like fun,” Sue said quickly, feeling her skin prickle at the thought.

“For some, it’s the ultimate release. Blaze is a place where everyone can find what they crave. To experiment, as you suggested. I would like you to promise to be honest with me and I’ll return that pledge.”

“I promise, Daddy,” she said, nodding. It felt strange to think she could tell someone all her biggest fantasies. Already her Daddy had made so many of hers come true.

Sue leaned forward and pressed a kiss against his lips. “Thanks for being such a good Daddy.”

“My pleasure, Cherry. I searched for you for a long time. I want us to be happy.”

“I’m better than happy,” Sue shared.

“Me, too.” Davis’s gaze passed her to look at the nightstand behind her. “Don’t you have to work early this morning?”

She twisted to look at the clock before whirling away from him to stand panicked on the carpet. “Crap! I have thirty minutes to get there, and it takes me fifteen minutes from here.”

“Go potty and put on your clothes. They’re in the closet on the right, remember?”

“Thanks, Daddy,” she called over her shoulder as she hurried to the bathroom.

That evening, Davis helped Sue into a cute sundress that he’d ordered for her. She’d been embarrassed that he’d known her size until she saw the look on his face when she stood in front of him ready to go to Blaze.

“You look adorable as always, Cherry.”

“How did you find something in this material? I can’t believe it has Black Forest cupcakes all over it.”

“Daddies have their secrets,” Davis told her with a wink. “Ready to go?”

“I’m kinda scared,” she admitted.

“Why?”

“What if they don’t like me?” Sue whispered.

“Everyone is going to love you. Now, let Daddy style your hair super special so everyone’s jealous,” he suggested.

“You know how to fix hair?”

“French braid, pouf, or ponytails?” he asked.

“What’s a pouf?” Sue asked.

“Let me show you.”

Davis led her into the bathroom and stood behind her at the vanity. “Let Daddy do his magic!” Carefully, he collected all her hair in a ponytail at the top of her head.

“I look like a cartoon character,” Sue protested.

“Daddy’s not done yet. Patience, Little girl.”

She fidgeted as he got out the curling iron and crimped locks of her hair into spiral twirls. Davis secured the front ones with bobby pins so they wouldn’t flop over her face but left the others free. It looked enchanting—like a pouf of twisting curls cascading around her head.

“I love it!” she celebrated when he clicked off the curling iron and stood back to clap.

“Shall we go see what your friends say?” he asked.

“Please!” Sue almost bounced with excitement. She was so ready to see everyone.

“Let’s go.” Davis held out his hand for hers and led Sue to the car. He chatted and asked questions to keep her busy on the way.

When he pulled down the drive to Blaze, Sue leaned forward to see all the cars parked. “There’s a lot of people here.”

A beep made her look to the right. Riley waved an arm already decorated with a gorgeous pattern of thin red cord. As soon as Davis was parked, Sue reached for the door handle to jump out.

“Not if you don’t want a pink bottom,” Davis warned, before her hand could wrap around the release.

“But… Riley’s waiting.”

“She’ll wait one more minute,” Davis promised.

Sighing heavily, Sue slumped against the seat back. The sight of her curls reflected in the window made her smile, and her annoyance evaporated.

“That’s better,” Davis whispered to her when he opened her door to find her smiling. “Come on, cutey. Your friends are waiting.”

“Riley!” Sue waved back at her friend as Riley pulled at her Daddy’s hand to get closer.

When they were a few feet away, each Daddy released their hold so the Littles could rush forward to hug.

“Your hair is so pretty. I’ve never seen you fix it like that,” Riley complimented.

“I didn’t do it. Daddy did!”

“Ooo! He’s good. Look what my Daddy did for me!” Riley proudly displayed her arm.

“That’s gorgeous,” Sue said, tracing the pattern lightly with her fingertip. She looked over her shoulder at Davis and he nodded. This was one thing she’d like to try.

“Let’s go. Everyone is waiting for us!” Riley said. “Grab your Daddy’s hand. They’ll check us into daycare.”

Tarson stood inside the door. He welcomed them in with a wave of his hand. “The Littles are waiting to greet you.”

Sue paused from looking around in fascination to lean toward him and whisper, “Hi, Bear.”

“I see some Littles have big mouths,” he observed with mock severity. The upward quirk of his lips gave away his honest feelings about the nickname.

Davis and Milo escorted the two Littles to the daycare. When they reached the area, Sue asked, “Are there always balloons here? It looks like a party.”
