“The band’s makin’ enough now that they’re gonna be able to pay their dues. They got a free ride on the club’s back long enough,” Dodge spoke out.

“Agreed,” Trip said. “Syn okay with that?”

“Ain’t Syn’s decision. But she knows we’ve been more than generous lettin’ them stay in the bunkroom with the prospects.”

“What about the drummer? Eddie don’t wanna prospect?” Deacon asked.

“He’s flip-floppin’.” Dodge shrugged. “If he decides no, I could see him walkin’ away from the band, too.”

Deke’s brow dropped low. “Why? Now they got a good manager, shit’s startin’ to happen for them. He’d be stupid to walk away, ‘specially since we all know Syn carries that fuckin’ band.”

“Yeah, well, if he does, ain’t gonna be a loss. Though, Syn might feel it for a bit. But if that happens, their manager will put out feelers for a new drummer.”

“Look, we know everyone’s not cut out for this kinda life. We’ve given them plenty of time to decide. Realize they’re a part of Syn’s band but that ain’t the same as being a part of the Fury. If he don’t decide to be a prospect, he’s been told he’ll have to find another place to stay. Just not here.” Trip turned to Dodge. “Why don’t me and you have a sit-down with Eddie. He needs to shit or get off the fuckin’ pot.”

“I’m with you, prez,” Dodge said. “You ain’t gettin’ an argument from me about it. Truthfully, I’d like to see Syn replace that whole fuckin’ band. She just refuses to do it. She might not be loud about her opinions, but like the rest of the ol’ ladies, she got them.”

Chuckling circled the group.

“They’ve been loyal to her and like family, too. Get that.” Trip found Easy in the group and lifted his chin at him. “Nico mentioned buyin’ your sled. That true?”

“If you sell him yours, what the fuck you gonna ride?” Sig asked, standing in the VP spot to the right of his half-brother.

“Got a bead on a badass 2019 Street 750,” Easy told them. “Soon’s I get that, Nico’s takin’ mine and he’ll be set to get his patches.”

“What about a ride for Rex?” Shade asked.

“He’s aware he ain’t gettin’ his cut ’til he’s straddlin’ two wheels,” Trip told them what they all already knew.

“Dutch might have a line on somethin’,” Rook called out. “Right, old man?”

“Yeah, piece of shit that’s gonna take a bit of work, but Sparky will whip it into shape for him.”

Whip shook his head at Dutch calling him that nickname. “Sled’s priced right. Won’t take much to get it runnin’ right, either. Will just be a little ugly ’til he got more scratch to make it pretty.”

“Pretty like you, Junior,” Ozzy said, blowing Whip a kiss.

“Better to be pretty than a fuckin’ ugly Ozhole,” Whip clapped back.

Trip’s jaw got tight and he shook his head. “All right, let’s get back on track with real business before this meetin’ goes to shit.” He sighed. “Since we’re on the subject of prospects, it’s time to vote on Bones and Castle gettin’ their full set of patches.”

“It been a year?” Cage asked.

“Fuck me,” Trip blew out a breath, “but yeah.”

“Couldn’t ask for better prospects with those two, unlike…” Rev refused say Scar’s name. Like most of them. He was a mistake that would take a while to forget. Though, Whip and Gabi would never forget that former prospect’s last few minutes.

“Yeah,” Judge murmured since everybody was thinking the same as Easy.

“Haulin’ those Shirley breeders and spawn to Ohio made those prospects worth their fuckin’ weight in gold,” Sig said. “I’m all for them gettin’ their patches.”

“Agreed. They risked their own freedom to do it. Know neither of them wanna go back in the joint and that was a real possibility with that task. But, you know how this works, we all need to vote on it. Anyone have a problem with them gettin’ their patches?” Trip scanned the group. Since he was standing on a wooden box in front of the bar, he could see everyone clearly. “Anyone? Speak up now or forever hold your damn peace.” The prez waited a minute, then clapped his hands together. “Alrighty, then, let’s vote. All those in favor of patchin’ in Castle and Bones?”

Everyone in The Barn yelled out a yeah.

“Anyone against?”

The floor was silent.

“There we go, got our two newest members. Let’s keep it on the D.L. for now. We’ll surprise them on Sunday right before the run. This way they can join us. Deke, get their patches in the meantime and I got a feelin’ Castle’s gonna keep his prospect name. Wouldn’t be surprised if Bones does, too, but ask them Sunday to make sure.”

Deke nodded. “That’s ‘cause Ozhole gave them good names instead of shitty ones like he was supposed to.”

“How the fuck was I supposed to know that they’d like those names?” Ozzy asked.
