“Someone’s feeling awfully sweet this morning,” he replies.

If only you knew. I’d never live it down if anyone had just seen what I was doing. Love might have fucked with my brain, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

“You had coffee?” I ask, remembering the taste of his kiss. He’d gone for bagels after his shower while I’d been too busy practicing my really shitty proposals.

“Evan and Frankie…I ran into them. Are you sure you want to talk about coffee?” He runs his hands down my back and too close to my ass for comfort. I turn, as in legit do some ballerina shit, to get out of his arms before he can touch my ass and maybe feel the ring. “Um…what was that?” he asks.

“Just another of my amazing skills,” I tease. “You haven’t seen my dance moves? I’ll have to show them to you sometime.”

“You’re being strange. Are you sure you’re okay?” He follows me out of the bathroom and into our bedroom.

“Yes, I’m fine.” I step into the closet and look for a shirt. I find a light-pink polo and tug it off the hanger. “Evan and Frankie, huh?”

“Why do you say his name like that?” He cocks a brow at me. I have a complicated relationship with twinky Evan. Part of me owes him my damn happiness because his dumb ass had wanted Peter, which led to me having Gary. If he hadn’t fucked up, Gary wouldn’t be mine. But on the flip side, his actions had hurt Gary, and I’m not down with anything that hurts Gary. Considering it was years ago, you’d think I would let it go by now.

The thing is, I know it wasn’t Evan’s fault. Peter is basically a piece of shit who lied to the kid for years and hurt him just as much, if not more, than he hurt Gary. Everyone has forgiven Evan—taken him under their wings and all that shit. He’s really fucking grown since we saw him in Flirt that last night Peter fucked with him, but there’s still that little part of me who holds a grudge. Yep, I’m petty. So sue me.

“Hello? Earth to Travis?” Gary snaps his fingers in front of my face.

“Sorry, I was thinking. And I didn’t say his name like anything.” But I know I did, and I also know it’s my issue and no one else’s. Gary has forgiven him. He likes the twink, and again, his life was devastated by Peter too. “The whole thing with him and Frankie is weird, huh? I think they have to be fucking.” They moved in together not long after they met. They’re two peas in a Metropolis pod.

Gary rolls his eyes at me as if I’m a lost cause. “No, I actually don’t think they’re fucking. Sure, I thought so at first, but I think they are just besties. Who knows how it happened, but it did. I think that’s good for Evan. He didn’t need to jump into a relationship anyway. He’s a strong kid.”

I nod because he is. Frankie had been there the night we swooped in and sort of saved Evan from the clutches of Evil Peter, which is what Cody called Peter when he drew him. The attraction was obvious between Evan and Frankie, but apparently that’s where it ended.

Once I pull my shirt over my head, Gary walks over and runs his fingers through my hair. “Perfect,” he says after getting it just right. The simple action makes my pulse go crazy and the ring in my pocket feel even more right—not that it ever felt wrong.

“I love you, Superass.”

“I love you too, Trav.”

My eyes catch his and hold them. This is where I’m supposed to say something playful or cocky because that’s just who I am. I’m too conceited for my own good and not in touch with my feelings, but when he looks at me, all that just sort of slips away. “I really do love you.”

He smiles, and it damn near stops my heart. “I really do love you too. Again, you’re very sweet today. It gets me horny. Are you sure you don’t have a few minutes before you go? Superass needs some cock.”

Well…when he says it like that.…I glance at the clock. My last meeting with Steven before our event tomorrow is in a little while but when Gary’s ass is involved, I can make time for anything.

“Monster cock.” I back him up toward our bed. “Though as you know, I’m good with heavy equipment.” He laughs, and it makes me even more happy that he remembers I said something similar to him the morning I woke up naked in his bed.

My shirt comes right back off. Gary frantically strips while I take care of my jeans and then we’re on the bed, kissing and touching. His blunt nails claw into my back; when I finally work my way into his hole, it’s fucking everything.
