“Why would you want me in the dark?” she asked suspiciously.

I batted my eyelashes at her and said, “You’ll see.”

She did the very next night.

SIMI

“Come on,” Zip urged. “Just try it on, for God’s sake. It’s a new one. It doesn’t fit me. I need you to try it on and see if you like it, and if you don’t, then I’ll return it. They’re going to charge me shipping if I have to send it back.”

I eyed the material. It was tight in the bust and the hips. Meanwhile, a flowy gauzy material flowed out at the hips, creating an ethereal look to it that would look great from the air.

I was surprised it didn’t fit her, though.

Everything always fits Zip. She always, and I do mean always, double-checked everything to make sure that she didn’t have to send stuff back like this.

“Fine,” I sighed as I tried it on.

It fit like a glove.

Though if I gained any more weight whatsoever, it wouldn’t.

“Wow,” Sienna breathed. “That’s gorgeous on you.”

“Agreed,” my sisters called out from various points in the room.

They were all changing into their dinner dresses for the night.

We were going out to an expensive steak house for the night, the one that Coffey used to work at, to celebrate his birthday with his friends and our family.

“Come on, or we’ll be late. I want you to go get approval from Coffey,” Zip pushed.

I sighed.

Every time I got a new uniform to wear, Coffey always gave his input. Sometimes it was a good thing, and others, it was bad.

But Zip was right. He got a kick out of approving what I would wear in front of thousands of people, and I allowed it because I loved my man and wanted him happy.

“Fine,” I said as I slipped into my white ballet flats that had somehow appeared for me to wear. “But if we’re late, it’s your fault.”

My sisters disappeared one by one, along with Sienna. “We’ll go wait in the cars.”

Then I was alone and hurrying toward where I thought Coffey was.

I found him all right.

Though, definitely not where I’d thought I would.

Instead of his food trailer, which he never seemed to stray far from even if he wasn’t cooking, I found him in the middle of the empty main tent.

And he was wearing a tux with his beautiful eyes directly on me as if he’d been waiting for me to arrive.

I licked my suddenly dry lips and said, “What’s going on?”

Movement at my back had me glancing back to see the thousands of candles that I’d missed as I’d walked in and the people that had entered at my back that I hadn’t heard until now.

“Will you do me the honor of becoming Mrs. Simiencia?” Coffey asked quietly. Roughly.

I felt tears well in my eyes at his question.

I swallowed hard and put my hands in his. “I will.”

There was never any doubt in my mind.

Ten minutes later, thanks to Crew officiating, I became official.

I was now Mrs. Coffey Simiencia.

And oh, boy, did it have a great ring to it.

Not to mention, I now got to share the same last name as my babies.

“How about one more?” Coffey asked with both of our daughters in his arms.

I laughed because that sounded like a nightmare.

Not that I didn’t love my girls, but I’d just gotten my body back to myself.

I could finally get up into the silks without worrying my man.

Oh, and a baby would mean we’d need a bigger RV.

“No, thanks,” I said. “I’m happy.”

His eyes sparkled as he said, “Sometimes, these things just happen.”

The way he said it made me take stock.

Then I realized how I’d wanted a fucking bear claw every single morning for the last damn week and how he’d gotten me one without complaint.

I closed my eyes and blew out a breath. “Shit.”

Coffey chuckled as he leaned forward and said, “You know you’ll be happy about it later.”

I would.

But now wasn’t later.

Now was now, and all I could think about was the stretch marks I’d finally managed to shrink.

“But the stretch marks, Coffey,” I whined.

He sat the girls down to their feet, then he lifted me up into his arms as if I weighed nothing.

“Your stretch marks make me happy,” he promised.

“And my ass?” I asked. “’Cause that’ll go soon, too.”

Because I couldn’t seem to stop eating fucking bear claws.

“That’s one of my favorite parts.”

He was right.

It was.

And nothing I could say would convince him I wasn’t utterly perfect, no matter what form I gave him.

“Fine,” I grumbled. “But don’t lecture me about how much I’m eating.”

“I would never.” He placed a kiss on my cheek. “I love you, Mrs. Simiencia.”

I weaved my hands into his hair and said, “I love you, too, Mr. Simiencia.”
