Pulling back, I smile then head back to my seat.

“You need to eat fast,” he says, licking his lips. “Because I’m ready for dessert right now.”

He pushes his hands up my bare stomach until he cups my breast. My clothes were torn off when we first came inside, and to be honest, I tore his off too.

Dinner was good, but dessert will be so much better and the waiting for this moment was unbearable at the end.

“Fuck,” he says, pushing me again with his body weight. I like to feel him on me, to know that I make this man crazy with need and want. He bites at my neck and drags his teeth along my collar bone until he moves to my breast and sucks my nipple.

I wonder if that’s all we will be?

Passion and goodbyes.

I hope not.

I really, really do.

My hands go into his hair, and I pull his mouth away from my breast as I look into his eyes. They’re gold right now, flecks of bright color shining back at me so brightly.

“I think you will be my greatest victory…” he grins, “… and my forever.” He whispers the last part as he pushes against me again, our naked bodies touching, his lips skimming mine.

“I like the sound of that.”

I practically wrap myself around him as he slides into me. I have missed this place, this place that’s solely him.

Atlas isn’t romantic.

But he’s my kind of romantic.

And I like it.

Actually, let me rephrase that—I love it.

Pretty much as much as I love him.

No more denying it, I can’t do it anymore.

My body moves to the rhythm that’s him, and soon my hands are crawling down his back as he fucks me harder, taking more of me.

But I’m not complaining.

Because I want him to take everything.

His forehead lands on mine, our bodies beading with sweat and overcome with emotion.

He is, quite simply, the best sex I’ve ever had, and absolutely the only man I have ever loved.

I look up at him, brushing some hair away from his face. “I love you, Atlas Hyde.”

“Of course you do,” Atlas replies with so much smugness, I can’t help the smile that lands instantly on my lips. “But I am sure I loved you way before you loved me.” He moves me away from the wall and carries me to my bed. Carefully lying me down, he then proceeds to show me every which way he loves me.

And I let him.

Over and over again.

Chapter Thirty

Atlas

A month passes in bliss, absolute fucking bliss. Not one night are we separated. Every night I either end up with her at her house, or she ends up with me at mine. Even when she works late, which she does regularly, those nights I bring her food and fuck her on her desk. Got to admit, those are my favorite nights.

Some nights, I want to kidnap her again, so I can have her all to myself for days on end because she doesn’t stop working—she’s a workaholic.

Then I remember the rule I made about not kidnapping her and think better of it, not wanting to ruin the perfectness that is us.

We had our first night with Benji last night.

And, well, now I want kids.

With her.

I never wanted kids. Fuck! I never wanted a woman.

To fuck, yes.

To live with, no.

“You should move in,” I say as I open her office door.

She glances up and shakes her head, looking back to her computer. “No, I like the way things are. Stop moving too fast,” she says without looking up again.

Theadora is like that. She isn’t afraid, she puts me straight in my place, even when I don’t necessarily agree.

“You told me you love me.” I smirk while looking at her.

Her gaze lifts from the screen, and she drops her head to the side. “And you tell me the same thing every chance you get. So, who is sappier in this situation, you or me?”

“Move in with me,” I try again.

“Nope. Now stop asking.”

I do.

Instead, I walk behind Theadora and slide my hands across her shoulders, giving them a rub, and she stops typing. “What if I asked you to marry me instead?”

I feel her body freeze beneath my fingers, so I apply pressure to try and get her to relax under my fingertips. “Okay, too soon. How about you move in?” I try again.

Theadora relaxes and switches off her computer to give me her full attention. “What’s brought all this on?” she asks.

I lift her blonde hair and wrap it around my fist, pulling her head back so she has to look up at me. “You… I just want you.”

“You have me.” Her eyebrows scrunch together.

“But I want every piece of you, even your last name.”

Theadora’s cell rings, and she looks down at it. My hand leaves her hair when I see Lucy’s name flash up on the screen. Theadora reaches for it and pauses. We don’t speak about Lucy, because Theadora doesn’t speak about her, so I don’t bring her up.
