It was late Saturday afternoon, and all he wanted to do was see his girl, take a hot shower, eat dinner, and spend the rest of the evening getting even with Georgia for that sexy FaceTime call she’d teased him with a few nights ago. The one where she’d called him wearing that seductive lingerie she’d gotten for her birthday, including the crotchless panties, and she’d roleplayed being his own personal “cam girl.” She’d been bold and uninhibited, and her sexual confidence as she touched herself while he watched was the hottest fucking thing. She loved being his bad girl.

Yeah, he’d gotten off on the roleplay, but jacking off with his hand was nothing compared to releasing inside Georgia’s soft, warm body. And after a week of being gone, he had a whole lot of pent-up sexual tension to unleash on her.

They’d both made a concerted effort to keep that fire going, even while he was away. They also spoke on the phone every single day and texted throughout. No doubt, the time apart was difficult, but he’d never felt so connected to Georgia. Never had to worry that him being away was anything more than a physical separation because the emotional bond between them was just as solid and strong.

Two months ago, when her lease was up on her apartment, he’d asked her to move in with him. With both of their busy schedules and his long hours, he wanted as much time together as they could get…he wanted to always come home to her in the evenings and wake up with her in his arms. There was no need for them to live separately when he knew this was the woman he intended to spend his life with.

Now that he’d wrapped up the EuroQuest contract, he wouldn’t be traveling as often for a while, and he needed to make a proposal happen.

He’d already gone to dinner with Georgia’s parents a few times—initially, to introduce him as her boyfriend, which had included a cool and frosty introduction to Nina Brooks, but every time they’d gotten together since, he’d deliberately charmed her, and Georgia’s mother seemed to thaw a bit more around him each time.

As for her dad, they hit it off famously, probably because they both worked in the same field of law and had so much in common. Roland had hinted a few times that he’d could use an attorney like Drew at his firm, but he’d made it clear he wasn’t interested. He wasn’t with Georgia to take over her father’s law firm…he was happy exactly where he was.

The town car arrived at their building, and Drew headed up to their apartment and let himself inside, always in awe of how Georgia had made his once minimalist place a real home. Her taste in décor was exceptional, a perfect balance of warmth and soothing colors, comfortable furniture, and contemporary artwork that made him love each and every room she’d redesigned.

Georgia’s favorite playlist of songs drifted out of the speakers in the living room, covering up any noise he might have made as he entered. She wasn’t in any of the front rooms, so he set his suitcase down and shrugged out of the leather jacket he’d traveled in.

“Honey, I’m home!” he called out playfully.

He heard a squeal of excitement from one of the back rooms, then Georgia appeared in the hallway, running toward him with a huge, happy grin on her face, with her hair in a ponytail and those sexy yoga pants conforming to her curves. He knew what was coming and braced himself as she leaped into his arms, and he caught her with his hands under her ass as she wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. He couldn’t help but laugh at her enthusiasm as she kissed him all over his face.

“I’m so happy to have you back,” she said, her lips finally meeting his. “I’ve missed you so much!”

She kissed him more deeply, and the contentment he felt with her was unmatched. It flowed through him, anchoring him in a way that felt like a lifeline. She was the only one he needed in his life, the only one he wanted to come home to every single day.

She ended the kiss, her soft sigh brushing across his lips.

“Marry me,” he blurted out.

He felt her jolt in his arms, and her eyes went wide as she stared into his. “What?”

He winced at his clumsy and unplanned proposal. He knew she’d heard him, and this wasn’t the way he’d imagined asking her… “Shit. I know I should have done this big, romantic thing, but—”

She clapped a hand over his mouth. “I don’t need anything big or romantic. Yes, of course I’ll marry you!”

He exhaled a relieved breath. “I’m sorry I don’t have a ring.” God, he felt like a doofus, but she laughed, clearly not angry.
