I think I might be really falling for him, though. I think I might be absolutely head over heels for him. It’s not just that he’s incredibly handsome and kind, or that he has two hot throbbing cocks that pleasure me better than any human male ever did. It’s how he makes me feel. He makes me feel smart, capable, and able. He makes me feel like I’m worth something. Not many men have ever made me feel that way. It’s the simple, little, most human thing that makes me fall for him.

“Come with me,” he says, crooking a finger at me.

I follow him, obediently. He is not worried about the billionaires at all. He leads me back to my apartment, where he makes himself at home, and makes me a sandwich.

“You haven’t eaten in several hours, or at least a dozen minutes,” he says, handing me the bread treat.

“Thank you,” I say, taking the plate from his shimmering hand. I check the interior of the sandwich and discover what looks to me like chicken salad.

It’s a good fucking meal. Cit sits down on one of the couches and I cuddle up with him while I finish my food. There’s something running through my head. A question I can’t answer for myself and suddenly absolutely must know the answer to.

“Cir?” I look up into his face.

“Yes?”

“What happened to the people who got sucked up into the sky? Did they die? What did you do with the bodies?”

“Would it upset you if they died? Did you know one of them?”

I suck my lower lip in. I don’t want to tell Cir about my life, because according to my resume I’ve been attending Harvard and Oxford nonstop since I was twelve years old, or near enough. I can’t tell him the truth.

“I knew of one of them,” I say. “He was kind of an asshole.”

“The people who were removed from the planet upon our arrival are not dead,” he says.

“So they could come back?”

His eyes narrow slightly. I heard it too, that note of panic in my voice. Shit.

“I mean, they could come back?” I repeat the question in a more chill way, as if he’s going to forget about the phrasing of the first question.

“Who are you afraid will return, Jessica?”

I bite my lower lip. “I don’t want to tell you.”

“I know you don’t,” he says. “It might be good for you to do so. Confession is good for the soul.”

“I don’t think I have a soul. And if I do have one… umpf!”

That last part is me finding myself over his thighs. I sigh, knowing this is going to hurt because I’d rather die than confess to my lies. I have the feeling he planned this all along. He gave me the food because he didn’t want to beat me on an empty stomach. What a gentleman.

“Tell me what’s going on with you,” he says, patting my ass quite firmly. “Tell me who has you so afraid, and why.”

“I can’t. I’d love to, but I can’t. It would ruin everything.”

“I won’t have my bride-to-be lying to me, Jessica.” He purrs my name in that sensual, sexual way that tells me this could become very enjoyable if I wanted it to.

“I’m sorry,” I say. “But I never agreed to tell you everything about me.”

“That’s true,” he says, his palm spreading over my ass, his big alien fingers finding the crevice between my thigh. But I would like to know you. Every bit of you.”

That’s not true. He’s saying that because he doesn’t know me, or my life. He hired me as an intelligent, accomplished human with expertise and stuff. Even if he suspects I’m not everything I seem, it’s not the same as understanding the kind of trash I am.

“It would be better to remake me,” I tell him. “I can be whatever you want me to be.”

He lifts his palm and lets it fall across my cheeks in a light, but stern slap.

“What I want you to be is truthful.”

“I am truthful,” I lie.

That earns me a harder swat, and a flash of pain. I knew this is what would happen. I knew I would deny him the truth and I knew he would punish me for it. The pain is not as bad as I anticipated, but the disappointment I feel emanating from him is much worse than I expected. Fuck. He really wants to know what I’m hiding. I’ve given myself away too much already. I know if he works out the depth of my deception he will have to fire me. I have to hold onto my secrets no matter fucking what.

Cir slides my underwear down, baring my body for his punishment. He does not say another word to attempt to cajole the truth from me. He just punishes me, his hand falling swift and sharp against my cheeks, dancing across the increasingly hot flesh of my ass and creating a crescendo of sensation that sweeps through my nervous system. My ass fucking hurts, but the pain rolls up through my belly and turns to heat, just as it trickles down between my legs and then goes all the way to my toes.
