Okay, so here’s the thing, if I took the time to mull it over, I knew I’d overanalyze and maybe even panic. But if I had ten seconds or less to scan, access, and act, I was a tactical genius. It was a useful skill as an infielder. My hand-eye coordination was insanely accurate, and it certainly worked to my advantage now. All my quick reflex motor senses clicked into place as I intercepted his peck and sealed my mouth over his.

When I licked his lips, he immediately let me in, threading his fingers in my hair as he glided his tongue alongside mine. I had to have more. Phoenix moaned in approval when I snaked my arm around his shoulder to draw him close. I inched back to bite his bottom lip before plunging inside again. He met me thrust for thrust in a passionate exchange that escalated with every grunt and sigh. I unbuttoned his coat and moved my hands over his chest then around his waist, tilting my chin to get closer still.

We gasped for air and chuckled when his ivy crown fell over his eyes, resting between our foreheads. I set it on his head and placed my thumb over his swollen lips before pressing a chaste kiss on his nose. His eyes seemed so big and his expression was a heady combination of lust and wonder. My dick pulsed against the zipper of my jeans. I couldn’t remember the last time I wanted someone this badly.

“Fuck, I want you.”

He squinted in the semi-dark and bit his bottom lip. “So we’re doing this?”

“Yeah. We’re doing this.” I smiled as I brushed a strand of hair behind his ear. “Unless you change your mind.”

“It was my idea. I’m not going to change my mind,” he said vehemently. “Let’s go. Sunny probably won’t be home for another hour or so.”

“I live closer and my roommate won’t be home at all tonight. Come to my place.”

Ten minutes later, I pulled into the entrance of my Spanish-style apartment building. The complex was a ghost town on the weekends. Christian and I specifically chose this place because it was just far enough from campus to make it uninteresting to students. Most of our neighbors were young professionals, and we only occasionally bumped into the same person twice. The anonymity was usually important to me, but tonight, I didn’t care who saw us. It didn’t matter. I had to touch Phoenix.

I slipped my hand into his and led the way to the elevators, holding the door open before pushing the button for the third floor. I thought he might break the silence and maybe ask why I was giving him the boyfriend treatment. But he didn’t. He just glanced down at our joined hands and smiled.

I released my hold to deal with the lock and gestured for him to enter my apartment before kicking the door closed. I tugged at Phoenix’s coat sleeve so he turned to face me. I carefully removed his crown and set it on an end table. Then I went completely still. I didn’t want to overwhelm him by moving too fast too soon.

“If you change your mind, it’s cool. We can—”

Phoenix threw his arms around my neck and covered my mouth with a sexy moan that went straight to my dick. I slipped my fingers under his coat and tugged his shirt from his jeans before splaying my hands flat against his lower back. His warm skin felt freaking incredible. I had to have more, I mused as Phoenix grabbed my hair and drove his tongue between my lips, rocking his pelvis against mine.

The second our denim-clad erections collided, I knew I was no longer in the driver’s seat. Hell, maybe I never was. Phoenix sucked and licked on my lips and tongue, setting an urgent, lusty pace while his hands roved everywhere…in my hair, around my neck, and down my sides, before resting low on my hips. I followed his lead and cupped his ass while we tongue-fucked. When it got too hot, I broke for air, panting as I pushed his coat off his shoulders. He unbuttoned mine at the same time and then launched at me. I stumbled backward and held his wrists to still him when he grinded against my thigh manically.

“Relax. There’s no hurry,” I hummed, licking his jawline.

Phoenix whimpered. “There kind of is. My jeans are too tight and I’m so hard and I just—please.”

I flattened my palm over his crotch and bit his earlobe. “Please, what?”

“Touch me. Let me touch you.”

“Yes. Come with me.”

I laced my fingers with his and led him down a short hallway to the master suite. My room was much bigger than Christian’s, with generous windows, a walk-in closet, and an attached bathroom with a huge shower. But it was kind of a “dude space.” I hadn’t done anything with it since Sky left. Other than the signed Steve Garvey poster my dad had framed for me when I was started college, the walls were bare. The blue-and-gray striped duvet on my king-sized bed and the collection of baseball caps lining my bookshelf provided the only real color.
