“What does he know?”

“Keir isn’t back yet.” I look out to see Keir pick Sailor up and throw her over his shoulder before he walks back in here, shuts the door behind him, and places her in a chair. He goes to Lucas’ bar refrigerator and grabs a bottle of water, then hands it to her. “Drink this.”

“Drink your cock,” she barks back, then giggles. “Or I can.”

He groans, and Lucas laughs.

We wait a few minutes while Sailor drinks her water and crosses her arms and looks around. “What’s the meeting for?” Her eyes pin to the man in here with us. “And why wasn’t I invited if he’s in here?” She points to him as Keir walks behind her and places his hands on her shoulder, then nods to Lucas.

“Go.”

I glance around to see all eyes on me.

“I’m about to kill your wife,” Lucas says simply, and I act on impulse alone, pulling my gun and aiming it at him.

“Joey,” Keir warns.

“You will not touch her.”

Lucas taps the man sitting in front of him, fear written all over the guy’s face. “Talk.”

“Scott wants her back. She is legally married to him.” Everything in me freezes. “The shop was her first warning,” he adds. “The second will be her sister being sent back in pieces.”

“She is my wife. You’re telling lies.” I’m shaking my head as he pulls out a piece of paper. Leaning in, I see a young Adora, dressed in a white dress, with a man wearing a tuxedo. But the one thing that stands out immediately is not her dress, or even the man. It’s her belly.

“She was pregnant.”

“He has their child.”

I look up from the photograph, my gun still aimed at Lucas. “You will not kill her,” I bark at Lucas, and the motherfucker doesn’t even flinch.

“She’s lied, deceived her way in. For all we know, she could be working with some of the older families who hold a grudge against Keir for killing his father.”

Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck.

“You don’t know that.” This can’t be happening.

“I wouldn’t even have told you. I would have just killed her, but Keir wanted you to know first.”

I turn to Sailor and Keir.

Sailor leans over and throws up all over her expensive shoes while Keir only nods.

“You made me marry her. You made me love her. To what? To tell me it was all a lie?” I ask him, seething. If blood boils, the evidence is currently rushing through my veins.

“I didn’t know it was a lie.”

“Fuck you,” I shout and pull the trigger. The bullet hits Lucas’ informant right between the eyes, and his head lulls forward and smashes into the table, covering Lucas in blood.

Sailor throws up again.

Keir rubs her back, shaking his head at me.

“You can’t have her,” I say firmly, my eyes locked on Keir’s, but they’re only seeing red.

“She is married to someone else, Joey. Has had someone else’s baby.”

“This is the first time you’ve heard of this?” I ask him, reaffirming as my head spins.

Keir nods. “First, just now.”

Lucas is swearing when I look back at him. “This suit was expensive.”

“It’s a normal suit.”

“Still expensive. I was trying to be a mob boss. How did I do?” Lucas asks, and if it were up to me, I’d kill him next for not shutting the fuck up.

“Shit,” Keir says answering Lucas’ stupid question.

“Damn,” Lucas says, sighing. “But now I have the blood. That counts, right?”

“None of this is helping me,” I growl out the words that I don’t want to say.

“Don’t let them do it, Joey. Please don’t,” Sailor whispers.

Keir looks at her but doesn’t listen.

Liar.

I never thought I would think that of my wife.

A liar.

What else has she hidden from me?

A child.

That’s not a small feat to hide either.

“Give me five with her.”

“That’s all you’ll get,” Keir says, and Sailor stands up to yell at him.

I get moving instantly, not a moment to waste as I throw the door open with a bang, my eyes scanning the room for Adora. I don’t find her on the dance floor with Chanel, so I stalk over to Chanel to ask her where she is. Her eyes widen as she takes in my crazed expression.

“Where did she go?”

“Outside. A man wanted to talk to her.” She nods to the door we came in earlier, her brow furrowing. I go straight outside to find her getting into a car. This is the part where I should raise my gun, but my arms are stuck to my sides as I watch her slide in. She looks back, half in and half out of the car.
