“Night!” she answered.

“Everyone knows the stuffie lady,” Adam commented.

“I love that my store is gaining a name. It’s really more than I ever dreamed.”

“Speaking of dreams… You need to go home and get in bed. Want me to follow you home?”

“No, Adam. I’ll be fine. Will I see you tomorrow?”

“Yes. I’ll have something quick to cook for a late snack just in case you decide to come visit.”

Rose gathered her courage and nodded. “I’d like that. We need some time alone to figure out if this is what we think it is.”

Adam nodded and stepped forward to kiss her again. The magic that flowed from his kisses made Rose forget where they were. Wolf whistles and cheers drifted across the parking lot in response to the leashed passion they could sense.

Lifting his head, Adam said gruffly, “Go home, pet. Sleep well.”

“Let me drive you to your car,” she suggested.

“It’s right there.” He motioned to a large SUV a few rows away.

He helped her into her car. “Put your seatbelt on. Be careful at the bank.”

“I will. See you tomorrow.”

She watched him disappear as she drove from the parking lot. Rifling in her large purse, she pulled out the adorable friend she’d hidden inside. The beagle looked back at her with wide eyes.

“I know, Ruff! He kissed me. It was so incredible. I’m going to his house tomorrow night. You’ll come with me, of course.”

Ruff stared back at her with those big eyes.

“I’m going to kiss him again, Ruff. Maybe more. I really think he’s the one.”

Chapter Five

“Let me put my address in your phone, Rosebud.” Adam smiled down at his Little girl as he slid one hand down her back and reached to take her cell from her with the other. They were next to her car, and he glanced around every few seconds to ensure they were safe.

He knew he was being a bit high-handed, but he wanted her to feel comfortable deferring to him when they were together.

His heart warmed when she simply smiled up at him and handed him her phone. “Is this one of those bossy Daddy things?”

“Yep.” She understood, and that made him even happier. “Daddies like to take care of their Little girls. You can follow me home in your car, but I’ll feel better knowing you have my address in your GPS just in case we get separated at a stoplight or something.”

He’d shown up a few minutes before closing time again tonight after spending most of the day thinking about nothing except seeing Rose again. He’d sat through two meetings about a mechanical problem in the plant during the day, struggling to pay close attention the entire time.

Finally, she was going to his house. It would be their first time alone together. He wasn’t the typical bachelor with a messy apartment that needed a woman’s touch. He was fairly organized and thought his home was warm and inviting. Granted, it didn’t hurt that his sister had helped him decorate when he’d moved in.

After entering his address under his contact information in her phone, he handed her the cell and opened her car door to help her inside. “Drive safe, Rosebud.”

She giggled. “Is that my new nickname?”

He smiled. “I think so. Do you like it?”

She worried her bottom lip with her teeth before she nodded. “I do. Roses are pretty and the petals are delicate.”

“Perfect then because I think you’re definitely pretty and delicate.”

She giggled again. He loved that sound. “I’m hardly delicate.”

“You are to me. Precious.” As she got settled in her seat, he grabbed the seatbelt and reached across her to fasten it before stealing a quick kiss.

“Mmm. I like your kisses,” she whispered as he eased his head out of her car.

“Good. I’m hoping to kiss you a few more times before the night is over.”

“Are you going to make love to me too?” she asked, eyes wide. She immediately clamped her lips together as her cheeks turned red. A second later, she glanced away.

He reached for a thick lock of her hair and stroked it next to her ear. “Eventually, Rosebud, but not tonight. Tonight is for getting to know each other better.”

He loved the way she sighed and how her shoulders dropped as if she were disappointed. “Okay.”

He patted the top of her car. “Follow me, Little girl.” As he shut her door and headed toward his own car in the next row, he had to concentrate hard to keep from adjusting his cock.

She’d made him hard. Harder than he remembered being in a long time. She was so perfect for him. He knew it deep in his bones.

A lot of Daddies he knew had said they’d known the moment they found their Little girls. Now he understood. Rose was the one. It might take some time to convince her, but he was certain.
