Liam pushed two fingers through my entrance, burying to the knuckles. I moaned loud and deep from a primal, animalistic part of me. “Uhh, that feels so—”

Thwack.

“Ah!” The swat rocked me, squeezing me down on Liam’s fingers. “Bastard.”

He chuckled huskily. “You wanted to remember my name with every ache, so let’s hear it.”

“Liam.” My back arched, giving him access, driving him deeper. “Liam.”

“Fuck,” he hissed.

The clink of his belt hardened my nipples. I reached for the blindfold.

“Don’t you dare.”

“Why? Liam, please, I want to see you.”

“You don’t get to see me. You’ll imagine me. Tonight. While you’re lying in bed spreading this sweet pussy, you’ll fantasize about me gripping my cock and smiling with your juices on my lips, and it’ll keep you up all night.”

Frustration and desire dizzied me. “You are a cruel man.”

I didn’t know if he heard me. Liam spread me over the couch the same way I wrote in my text and slipped his tongue inside. I was lost.

Strings of unintelligible, panted nonsense dropped from my lips. I think I was begging. Pleading with Liam to take off the blindfold, let me see him, let me touch him, and my most fervent wish, to fuck the crap out of me.

My pleas didn’t reach or slow him down. He ate me out to his heart’s content—dipping to suck on the bundle of nerves. Bobbing up to gift me a new experience—swirling his tongue around my puckered hole.

I came once, then twice—toes digging in the leather and screaming Liam’s name. All I had to picture the scene of me bent and at his mercy was his hand on my hips, and the fap, fap, fap of his fevered tugs. Even though I couldn’t see what I was doing to him, I heard his strangled dick, rough grunts, and my name on his lips.

Liam smacked my ass mid-tongue fuck and I came hard, flopping off the couch and dropping headfirst toward the hardwood. Liam caught me and gently pulled me back—his shirt damp and sticking as he molded to me, pressing his mouth to my ear.

“I’m not afraid,” he whispered, “when I’m with you.” Then he stiffened, and warm wetness covered my thighs.

Liam held me for a long time, our bodies cooling, breaths slowing. I made to speak half a dozen times, but nothing seemed right for the moment, so I let it go. Was this an admission of something? A beginning? Asking too soon might remind Liam of his reasons for believing we’re not a good idea. He knew how I felt. I was more open with him than I intended to be. The ball was in his court. If he was ready to move past fear and build something real with me, it was his turn to say.

His warmth disappeared from my back.

“Liam?”

Silence responded, broken by the sound of his zipper, then running water and a cool cloth wiping me clean. Liam even dressed me quietly. He didn’t say a word until he removed the tie, gazing into my eyes as he replaced it—the unruffled, legitimate businessman once again.

“Luca Adams.”

I blinked at him like he slipped into another language. “What?”

“You came to tell me what you know about Adams. Where he goes. What he does. Friends. Family.” He gave me his back. “He’s proving hard to find. At this time, any information—”

I grasped the back of his shirt, pulling him up short. “That’s it? After what just happened, we’re back to business as usual. There isn’t anything you want to say to me?”

“Mackenzie.”

“Liam,” I said firmly. “You promised me the truth. No tricks, no lies... no leading me on. Just honesty.”

He growled, tossing his head. “I told you the truth, Mackenzie, and it’s the most honest thing I’ve said. More than I knew I could be. I can’t say more, because I’ve said it all.”

“I’m not afraid when I’m with you.”

“Oh,” I said softly.

“Do you understand?”

I ducked my head, smiling so goofily, I didn’t want him to see. “I understand.”

“Good.” Straightening, Liam got out of my hold and picked up his laptop. “Adams. He hasn’t been by the apartment he owns since his last run-in with Sunny, and I haven’t dug up other property in his name. Did he mention anywhere else? Did he take you there?”

My lip surrendered between my teeth, fighting me to smile. Being this close to him and sharing the intimate tour he took of my body did terrible things to my concentration. The man laid me out like a Christmas turkey while I’ve yet to see him out of a bathing suit.

This is important, Kenzie. Focus on taking down Adams. Liam isn’t going anywhere. I have no plans to leave his head, or his fantasies, so he’ll have to spend a lifetime bending me over to get his fill.

“There was the building Digger trapped me in when he grabbed me on Halloween. It’s empty now,” I warned. “After I escaped, I called the police and they raided the place. Luca isn’t stupid enough to go back there.”
