That actually sounds pretty good to me. I can’t argue with his logic.

Over the next few weeks, I learn to deal with my grouchy, burly babysitters. Joshua, Lenny, and Todd are ranch hands while Zeke and Raymond are bodyguards with Carmichael Security. Each man takes a day to spend at Petal Pushers.

Playboy stepped in to help Landon find a new ranch foreman. Edgar Demario started a few weeks ago and he’s already taking a huge load off my man’s shoulders. Landon is still insanely busy between the ranch and his club, but he’s not so stressed all the time.

I close the shop and stay at the clubhouse with Gloria when the brothers head to Houston to escort Hands, Samara, and baby Scout home. The baby is steadily healing from her surgery, and the brothers are excited to have their VP and his family back in Silver Spoon Falls.

Hadley spends quite a bit of time with Samara, but the overprotective surgeon doesn’t let many people come by while the baby is still susceptible to infection. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to hang out with them soon. I’m dying to get my hands on the adorable little munchkin.

By the second week of having babysitters, I’m ready to pull my hair out. The big, strong alpha males are bored and running me up a wall. Putting them to work saves my sanity. I mean, there’s no reason for them to sit in the corner and twiddle their thumbs.

“I rearranged the arrangements in the cooler.” Joshua leans against the counter and smiles. “They needed to be color-coded.” I mentally roll my eyes. The young ranch hand has a tiny amount of OCD, but I love having his help. So far today, he’s done the cooler, reorganized the balloon rack, and cleaned the storage room.

The entry bell rings, and I glance over to see my handsome hunk strolling through the door. “Stop sucking up to my woman,” he growls at Joshua before pulling me into his arms and kissing me within an inch of my life. “How’s your day been?” Landon leans his forehead against mine and smiles down at me.

“Great.” I lay my head against his muscular chest. “But I’m ready for the weekend.” This week, we’ve been ships passing in the night. I had all the corsages and boutonnieres for the Silver Spoon Falls prom to finish, and Landon has been working overtime at the ranch. There’s also something going down with the MC, but he’s trying to shield me. Silly boy. I’ll have to prove that I’m able to handle every part of his life, even the not-so-nice parts.

“Are you able to spend the weekend with me?” I bat my eyelashes up at him. “I miss you.”

“I plan to keep you tied up until Monday morning.” He winks and I throw my head back to laugh.

Over the weekend, we video call his parents in Florida. I’m a little shocked to see his parents are so much older than I expected. Evidently, Landon was a mid-forties oops baby. After hanging up, he hugs me close. “I want at least five kids.”

I blink up at him, sure I misheard him. “Five?” I squeak.

“At least. We’ll start at five and see what happens.” Holy hell. I glance down at my already curvy body and try to imagine giving birth to his kids. If they’re the size of their dad, we’ll both need second jobs to afford to feed them.

My phone vibrates in my pocket, and I count to three before glancing down to see who’s calling. Cash’s name flashes across the screen, and a sudden sense of foreboding hits me. “What happened now?” I growl.

“Giant’s crew spotted a couple of the Hell’s Vipers dickheads snooping around in Silver Spoon Falls.”

I knew it was too good to be true. Things have been quiet for a few weeks, and I’d begun to hope the assholes had moved on to torturing someone else. Goddamn. Fuck. Son-of-bitch. My blood pressure spikes at the memory of the bruises those dickheads left on my girl.

This entire shit show started with Playboy’s dumbass father. When Vincent Romano attempted to cover up his chemical dumping, he hopped into bed with a shady as fuck lawyer who was also a lackey for the Hell’s Vipers MC. Old, stupid shit Romano couldn’t clean up his mess above board, so he decided to play dirty using the outlaw MC. Once he realized their methods were going to get someone killed, he begged Cash’s grandfather for help without disclosing all his misdeeds. His dumbass decisions led to Montoya Investments getting caught up in all the shit. Fortunately for everyone involved, Playboy’s dad died and all the skeletons came roaring out of Romano’s closet. Cash and Playboy worked together to bring Romano above board and managed to bring the large company back from the brink. The attorney lost his job at Fifth’s law firm, and Playboy cut all ties between the Hell’s Vipers and Romano International Shipping, and the other MC didn’t receive the payments Vincent and the attorney promised.
