“Okay, what’s our game plan with Harley?” Blake asks.

Mason tilts his head. “How do we feel about sending him on a wild goose chase?”

Blake and I look at each other. Easy answer.

“We’re in,” I say.

“You don’t even want to know the details?” Mason snickers.

Blake stands. “Nope. Let’s do this.”

Before we can formulate a plan, the buzzer for the front sounds again.

The three of us freeze, like that could make us invisible, and then my phone dings.

“It’s him, isn’t it?” Blake asks.

I check my phone. “Yep.” I flip it to show them the screen.

I know you’re in there.

Mason shivers. “Creepy. Has Harley been taking notes from his stalker?”

“You know about that?” I ask.

“Only what was in the media.”

“Do I reply, or do we sneak into the garage and flip him off as we drive out?” I ask.

Mason takes my phone and types away.

“What are you saying?” Blake reads over his shoulder. “New number. Who dis? Original, dude.”

Now I get in there too. Harley’s message pops up immediately.

Ha, ha, open the door.

Mason replies: What door?

I know Mason’s been staying with you.

Mason types: What makes you think it’s Mason?

I snort at his reply. “You’re better at playing dumb than I thought.”

Who else would it be in the tabloids with you?

“Ooh, I know how to handle this.” I take my phone back.

Oh, that guy. That’s some random mountain man I found. He’s now my life coach. He says Eleven getting back together is a bad idea. It will mess with my juju.

“Mess with your juju?” Blake laughs.

“My juju is a very serious matter,” I say solemnly.

“How are we gonna get out of here without him seeing?” Blake asks.

“We should let him see for my plan to work.” Mason turns to me. “Where are your car keys?”

“You want to take the Maserati?” My heart thumps at the thought. “Harley will have his ex-military, special ops boyfriend with him. He’d probably be able to chase us down and kick our asses before we even hit Sunset.”

“Not if we have your car,” Mason points out.

“Let’s do this,” Blake says.

The garage has an interior door to the house, so we don’t have to go outside to get into the car and back out.

Mason asks for the keys.

“Not on your life,” I grumble.

“You know,” Blake says, “I’ve had stunt driver training for the Coby Godspeed movies. I could—”

“Not on your fucking life either. My car. My baby.”

“You don’t even know where we’re going,” Mason says.

“Tell me.”

“Actually, I might need help with that. A year ago, the Q was popular. We need somewhere there’ll definitely be paparazzi.”

“Oh, so when you say wild goose chase, you literally mean it. You want to leave a trail of paparazzi photos in our wake for Harley to follow?”

“Yep.”

I shake my head. “You’re evil, but I love it.”

We get into my car, Blake in the back and Mason in the passenger seat, and I rev the engine.

My finger pauses on the garage remote. “Are we ready?”

As they smile at me, I realize I can’t remember the last time I used my celebrity status to have actual fun. I can’t remember ever going to the paparazzi-filled places for anything other than needing publicity.

Right now, I don’t care about the exposure. I’m only interested in one thing.

Messing with Harley Valentine.

Chapter Twenty

Mason

When we pull out of Denver’s driveway, all three of us wave to Harley, laying down the challenge. His pretty-boy features turn to a scowl, but then at the last second, his lips quirk. Because he realizes what this is.

If he can track us down, there’s no doubt his prize will be our signatures on a recording contract. We just want to make him work for it first.

I thought I’d be self-conscious about being photographed, but the idea of making Harley chase us all the way around LA has all the tabloid drama and body weight issues leave my mind. Maybe that will change in a few hours when my photo is splashed all over the internet, but I’ve already filmed for Fandom. I’m in the tabloids because of our hike. This is the same shit, different day, but I get something out of this.

Denver weaves in and out of traffic expertly, and I didn’t know it could look as sexy as it does. He’s hyperfocused on the road, and the concentration line on his forehead is adorable.

I’m only mildly regretful Blake is along for the ride with us, or I’d reach over and … Well, I don’t know what I’d do. I want to jerk him off again, but I also want to get ahead of Harley. It would be a difficult choice.

The first place we plan to go to is somewhere Blake suggests. It’s an outdoor restaurant in West Hollywood famous for celebrity sightings. According to him, he has nearly all his Coby Godspeed meetings there with directors and other stars to give the movie media buzz.
