Roman didn’t know when he collapsed over her, or wrapped his arms around her, only that it happened.

“That was amazing,” she said.

Roman kissed her neck. He was still inside her, although his cock was getting flaccid. He took hold of Abigail’s hands, and they locked fingers together.

“Marry me,” he said.

He felt her tense in his arms.

Abigail tilted her head, but with the angle, she was not able to see him. She pulled off his cock, spun around, and looked at him.

“What?”

“I’m in love with you. There is no one else I want in my life, and I am crazy about you.”

“You’re asking me to marry you?”

“I’ve been wanting to for a long time. You’re my world, Abi, and I know I can make you happy.”

Her mouth had fallen open, and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “It’s good I can still surprise you.”

“You’ve told me today that you love me, and you want to marry me.”

“And you told me you loved me back.”

“And I do. I love you so much.”

“So, marry me. Take that leap of faith.”

“But you’re the boss—”

“I could fire you.”

She gasped. “No, hell, no, I love my job.”

“Then me being the boss is no excuse.”

“But what if you don’t want kids, because I want kids?”

“I want them,” Roman said. “I want what you want. Tell me, and I’ll let you know if there’s anything you want that I don’t.”

Abigail frowned and rubbed at her temple. “I want a bunch of kids.”

“Me too.”

“I want to have a nice family home, and for the kids to never want to leave home.”

Roman chuckled. “Right now, as long as they’re not causing us trouble, that’s what I want. I want it all with you, Abi. I’m not running from anything, and if you give me a chance, I will give you the world.”

For several seconds she just stared at him, and he didn’t know what was going on in her mind, or if he even wanted to know what she was thinking about.

“Yes,” Abigail said. “Yes, I want to marry you, and I want to have the world with you. I love you.”

He sat up, cupped her face, and kissed her.

Abigail pulled away first. “You’re not firing me.”

He laughed. “I’m not firing you.”

“Do I need to get that in writing?” she asked.

“No, Abi, you can trust me, because I would never do anything to hurt you.”

And that was the truth. He loved this woman with his whole heart, and he would sacrifice everything for her.

Epilogue

Five Years Later

Angel danced around at Roman’s feet as he made his way up the front porch of the beautiful ranch home he’d bought a few years ago for Abigail’s birthday.

In his arms was Roman Junior, his first-born son, and Abigail moved up behind him, carrying their newborn daughter, Tilly.

They hadn’t gotten pregnant right away. In fact, it had taken them over four years to conceive. It had taken them so long that they had both gotten tested by doctors, and they were both viable and healthy, it just took time.

So, for the last four years, they built a life together. Abigail worked as his PA, by his side, helping him every day. They found this ranch together, and it had been dilapidated, but with a lot of hard work, they’d finally turned it into a family home. This was the place they spent Christmas last year, and yes, Carl spent Christmas with them. Carl had his own room at the ranch, and he’d become a support to both of them. He’d always been a friend, and the same had happened with Abigail. They’d been there when his wife left him for another man. They were the best of friends.

Roman also believed last Christmas was when it finally happened. He and Abigail had been enjoying each other at Christmas, having fun, enjoying sex. They had stopped coming together when she was ovulating. They decided to stop counting the days, or doing all the mechanical stuff, and just enjoy being married and finding each other.

Two months later, she took the test, and she was pregnant. The first ultrasound revealed not one but two heartbeats. They were having twins.

The last nine months had been scary. Twins came with a lot of complications, and midway through the pregnancy, Abigail had to go on bed rest. She was getting tired, bringing two babies into the world.

Roman was not going to forget their babies coming into the world. It had been a long night. Carl was there as they opened the door, complete with a banner, and the homely scent of a home-cooked meal.

He was a rock, and he came over, looking at their babies, and he held each one in turn. Roman was happy to see they didn’t burst out crying.

While Carl went to serve their dinner, he and Abigail took their babies up to the nursery, that had been one of the first rooms in the house to complete. They had two cribs, as he had purchased a second one the moment they learned they were having twins.
