“I just need to know she’s all right.”

The sun had already set.

“I am curious,” Storm said.

His mother had been pissed for a long time, and she didn’t approve of his little family with Star. It was why he tried to convince Wen to come to the clubhouse every Christmas, as it was a way to see his kids. They knew not to call him Daddy whenever anyone was close. They always had to call him Uncle Bolt, or just Bolt. It was a lie that had worked, because his kids were all under five fucking years old. He was so messed up.

“What, Mom?”

“I saw Morwenna enter the club. I saw her leave your room, and even after she saw you, you didn’t appear for another ten minutes,” Storm said. “So that means, even when your wife caught you in the act with another woman, you didn’t stop. You waited until you were finished, didn’t you?”

He was nearly there, and it had pissed him off at being disturbed. He happened to love Morwenna, and he did find her attractive as well. He loved her curves, and she was his wife, and he never could keep his hands off her. Imagining her potentially joining him and Star had been hot as hell, and he wanted to complete. So, he had.

“Jesus, son,” his father said.

“What do you want me to say?”

“You’re a selfish bastard,” Storm said. She got to her feet and turned toward his father. “I warned you this would have complications and if her father finds out, Casey’s as good as a dead man.”

His mother left the room, and he looked toward his dad, needing some guidance.

“Dad?”

“I don’t know what you want from me, son. Right now, you’ve crossed a lot of lines. Within the club, you haven’t crossed any, but when family is involved like this, people get hurt. Your mother loves Morwenna. Fuck me, even I love the girl. She’s an amazing woman. You have an amazing woman, and I kept telling myself it wasn’t my place to warn you. Three kids, and none of them with your wife.” He shook his head. “This is a shit show, Casey, and the only person who can deal with this is you. Get the fuck out of my office, while I call her father and try to make this right.”

Morwenna’s father was a good man. He was ex-military, but the man was not afraid of anything. Even at their wedding, he brought multiple guns and threatened him many times.

He ran a hand down his face and tried not to think. Morwenna was out there, and now he needed to figure out what the fuck to do.

Chapter Two

“How are you feeling this morning?” Willow, her mother, asked.

Morwenna looked up from her coffee to see her mother’s concerned, yet smiling face.

Willow and Gus Graves, her parents, were in the kitchen of her childhood home. Her father was once again dressed in a suit, as he worked as a main contractor, overseeing multiple construction projects.

After returning from the military, Gus went to school, got his certification, and became a health advisor for the county. He drove around many different towns, checking building work, giving out warnings. It was a job he loved to do, one he said he would die doing, because men and women needed to know they had someone who supported them. He was always there to offer advice, write up the codes. He was damn good at it too. Her mother often said he was a soldier that never truly left the military, and taking care of others was vital to him.

He was loyal. Not once had her parents ever left one another. They fought, because all couples did, but they had a code. They would not walk away until a conflict was resolved. They handled it together, like a true team. They had each other’s backs.

They didn’t know what happened yesterday. They were aware that Casey was panicking and asked them to call her, which is what they did.

“I’m fine,” Morwenna said. She never lied to her parents. She loved them so much, and right now, not telling them what was going on was killing her.

“I think I need a little fresh air.” She excused herself, picking up her coffee cup and making her way outside.

It was already hot, and it was not even eight o’clock. The clinic said they would get in touch as soon as they had her results. Getting poked and prodded had been the ultimate humiliation. Even as they did their exam, she couldn’t help but cry. Thankfully the nurse and doctor did not say anything. They handed her a tissue, so clearly her pain was understood.

She tried not to cry even now, and tilted her head to look up into the sunny sky. She was not a big fan of summer. The hot, horrible, sticky, disgusting mess. She preferred the fall, winter, and even spring. Summer was too hot.
